Heheh, I thought about joining as Marron from Sorcerer Hunters but I didn't think I could post a funny intro seeing as how he's not that funny by himself.
I can't say yet, since the whole voting-and-application process is supposed to be anonymous. But, yeah, I totally had a similiar problem. My character does not speak in paragraphs!
You know, I'm sure they'll grab you. And I will be sad, because you will vanish down the black hole that is that game, and those of us who aren't playing will never see you again.
So it is a measure of how fond of you I am that I wish you luck with it anyway. And I'm not going to do voodoo here in a vain attempt to stop it, or anything.
You know, I wouldn't actually be surprised if the opposite happened. I have a terrible habit of not replying to posts or comments when I first read them, since I haven't yet come up with anything articulate or impressive to say, and putting them off for a day, and then another day, and then another day, at which point I either forget or am too embarrassed to say anything.
Anything that forces me to get used to replying immediately could instead result in more of my presence around lj.
In around a week. The window to apply closes at 6am EST, then the mods go through to weed out ones that are extremely bad or don't guidelines, and then they go up in a groups of five or so to be voted on, one group a day. You need a 70% approval rating to get in.
They have all of the main cast of Saiyuki, quite a number from FMA, no one from YnM, and some fun people from randomly selected canons, like Alex from 'A Clockwork Orange' or Anne, the one "of Green Gables". There's a complete cast list in the community's userinfo (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=campfuckudie) (if you scroll down. I'd link directly to it, but I can't figure out how).
Eheh. I bombed like anything, but I got some great feedback, and invaluable insight into what I could and couldn't make work there. (Frankly, before it was over, I was more nervous that the tide would suddenly turn and I'd be accepted, trying to assimilate all that C&C in a short amount of time and debut would have driven me batty. )
... Um. That was supposed to sound more encouraging than it actually was. *ahem* What I think I intended to say was, even if it does get taken out (but I'm crossing my fingers for you that you don't - you seem pretty spot-on with what I've seen you write), persistance and self-evaluation can definitely pay off, sometimes you can make an awesome impression on the rebound, and have more confidence for it...?
As long as you're not a Mighty Ducks character oh god I felt so sorry for that mun.
... Guh. I'm sorry, I was trying to be comforting, wasn't I? Um. Crap. ._.;
Yeah, they do give great concrit there. I was stalking the voting posts in an attempt to figure out what, exactly, was the difference between the apps that made it and they ones that didn't.
I think I'm more nervous than I would be over any other type of writing because I don't usually do first-person, and certain aspects of the character were way, way hard to translate to a journal post.
And you shouldn't. You shouldn't. He'd crack and murder everyone; and by the time the bodies had all bled out, he probably wouldn't even mind the possibility that he resembled his nemesis any more.
On a totally random note, I need more Hisoka icons. Many, many more. I may have flunked iconmaking on the first round, but perhaps it's time to try again.
The hardest thing of all is pathologically refreshing the vote to see how you're doing. Haru-mun and I about killed ourselves doing it one night when a Rin came up to vote.
