Title: Contrasting Colors
Ratings/Warnings: NC-17
Fandom: The Vantablack Feud between Stuart Semple and Anish Kapoor. If you haven't heard of this (extremely hilarious) war going on in the art world, this article explains it pretty well.
Notes: My Yuletide fic! :D

Summary: Stuart Semple and Anish Kapoor have extremely different views on the idea of sharing Vantablack with the wider artistic community. But this time, Vantablack isn't a color; it's a spell. Their rivalry, however, might just be disguised sexual tension.

Title: In Our House

Title: Light As Air
Ratings/Warnings: NC-17 for explicit f/m sex, breathplay
Fandom: The Benjamin January mysteries by Barbara Hambly
Pairings: Rose/Hannibal
Notes: This is the reason I've been so busy lately – managing to get this story finished before the deadline. This is a treat I wrote for Nary for the Seeing Color exchange, though it's actually based on prompts from the Smut Swap exchange a few months ago. I started it then, but didn't manage to finish it in time, and luckily had a second chance to write it.

Summary: Rose conducts an experiment on Hannibal, which leads to unexpected places. (Set during Good Man Friday.)

Title: Flesh of My Flesh
Ratings/Warnings: NC-17 for explicit f/f sex
Fandom: Strange Empire
Pairings: Kat Loving/Isabelle Slotter
Notes: This is the story I wrote for the Smut Swap exchange! Sanguinity asked for this pairing with "Accidental Soul Bonds", and I had a lot of fun writing it, though I've never written the fandoms or the trope before. I'd enjoyed watching the show so much that it was really nice to write for it, and the trope was a lot of fun to play with. Also many thank yous to within_a_dream and thewalrus_said for being excellent betas! This is an AU that takes off immediately from the point in canon of the marriage between Isabelle and Kat.

Summary: In a world with soulbonds, a marriage of convenience carries extra risks....

Title: Once Upon a Time in India
Ratings/Warnings: G
Fandom: Fairy tales. Specifically, the story of The 12 Dancing Princesses.
Notes: I wrote this story months ago, but it just occured to me that I forgot to make a post about it, and so here we are!

Written as a treat in Yuletide 2015 for lalalalalawhy, because her letter asked for a Bhangra AU, and that was too cool to pass up. I wrote this at the very last minute – in a few hours on Christmas Eve – and made it into the archive with only minutes to spare, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

Summary: The twelve dancing princesses aren't going to a castle with princes. They have an entirely different destination.

3515 words. Also available on AO3.

Title: Things of Little Worth
Author: Brigdh
Ratings/Warnings: G
Notes: Written in Yuletide 2014, for the–alchemist. Many thanks to AlterEgon for betaing at the last minute and being very helpful and encouraging!

Summary: Ahab and Starbuck, on the homeward voyage after Ahab's first encounter with Moby Dick.

Perhaps God grants respite even off the howling, pagan Patagonian coast, or perhaps it was Starbuck’s hand, which yet lay on Ahab’s leg, the two opposing forces – the frozen fingers and the fevered thigh – having gone some way toward reaching a balance.

Notes: Written as a treat in Yuletide 2014, for the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] egelantier. Many thanks to LeaperSonata for excellent last minute betaing! The Goblin Emperor is a very lovely high fantasy novel by Katherine Addison, and if you haven't read it, you should check it out.

Ratings/Warnings: NC-17 for explicit sex.
Disclaimer: The Benjamin January mysteries are by Barbara Hambly.
Notes: Many, many, many thanks to my betas, [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo and [livejournal.com profile] silverflight. This story took way longer to write than is reasonable, but they were immensely helpful.

Summary: “What does sex feel like?” Rose says, her voice drowsy and her head resting on January’s shoulder. “For you, I mean. I assume that the experience must be somewhat different for men, given the divergence in our bodily equipment.”
In which Ben and Hannibal attempt to help Rose answer that question.

Title: And When Resisted, Cruel
Author: Brigdh
Ratings/Warnings: R. This is a sex pollen story. Though the sex itself is about as consensual as it's possible for sex pollen!sex to be, this is still a story explicitly about consent issues.
Disclaimer: The Benjamin January mysteries are by Barbara Hambly.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo's May Challenge. My prompt was "sex pollen".

Summary: “A drug. It was in that drink,” she said, and swore, remembering its bitter taste.
Rose gets dosed with sex pollen.
(Set around the same time as A Free Man of Color.)

Summary: Little things, things that in France would have been unremarkable, but since he’d left January had had to lower his expectations. Sefton's conversation, the music, and the gin were like pieces of Paris returned to him – a Paris that hadn't been destroyed by Ayasha's death.
First meetings for Benjamin, Hannibal, and Rose.

A million thanks to [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo, for very last-minute beta duty.
Written for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo for the prompts: dungeons, hypoglycemia/low blood sugar, nervous breakdown, and homesickness (wild card).
Summary: A Medieval Europe AU, set in the 12th-century Holy Roman Empire. Ben has been captured in battle and imprisoned in a dungeon. If he wants to get back to his home and Ayasha, he'll need to break out, get help, and walk across half of Europe. Summary: After their marriage, Kit and Jude find they need to bring Lady Rose back. Kit/Jude.
Notes: Written for Yuletide 2013, for [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo. I am very grateful to my beta, Cyphomandra, for working on such short notice!

Untamed by Anna Cowan is an AMAZING Regency romance featuring a cross-dressing duke and a tough, masculine country girl, and you should all read it.

Title: Ain't Gonna Waste My Pleasures
Author: Brigdh
Ratings/Warnings: PG-13, non-graphic violence, references to murder
Summary: Cora and Polly and Willie, and how stories turn in to songs.

Cora was tough as nails and could shoot with a dead-eyed accuracy that put down whatever she aimed at. He’d seen her shoot a man with the same coolness she used to shoot squirrels, and she could handle any sort of gun, from a pistol to that ancient shotgun she kept behind the cabin’s door, long and narrow as Cora herself. It seemed easier to believe she might have acquaintance with ghosts than that she was some sort of secret poet.

Notes: Written for Yuletide 2013, for Lady Anne Boleyn. So much love and gratitude to my betas, [livejournal.com profile] threewalls and [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo! And thank you to Silver Queen for a very inspiring prompt.

This story is a crossover between the songs "Pretty Polly" and "Darling Cora" (though you can also read it without canon knowledge!). As with all folk songs, there are approximately a million versions of each. Here are some of my favorites, if you'd like a soundtrack for this story:
Pretty Polly: Ralph Stanley & Patty Loveless | Bert Jansch | Hillbilly Gypsies
Darling Cora: Appaloosas | The Church Sisters | Ed Hicks and Aaron Jonah Lewis

Summary: Rose takes care of a poisoned Hannibal.
Disclaimer: The Benjamin January mysteries are by Barbara Hambly, and you should all read them.
Notes: This is just a tiny little thing. I wrote it for that writing meme I posted recently, in response to a prompt from an anonymous commenter (so thanks, anon!), but I figured it had enough substance to be a ficlet, so why not post it.

Set just after the climatic parts of Dead Water.

Title: Again to See the Stars
Author: Brigdh
Ratings/Warnings: NC-17, brief mentions of drug and alcohol withdrawal.
Summary: Hannibal has (mostly) gotten through the withdrawal period, so he and Ben celebrate. By having sex. Ben/Hannibal, implied Ben/Rose/Hannibal
Disclaimer: The Benjamin January mysteries are by Barbara Hambly, and you should all read them.
Notes: A million thanks to my betas, [livejournal.com profile] silverflight8 and [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo, who are incredible and awesome. [livejournal.com profile] somebraveapollo also helped me come up with a title.

This is set during the early part of The Shirt on His Back, and involves some minor spoilers for that book. This story relies a bit more on canon knowledge than did the first one I wrote. If you haven't read the book, but would like to read this story, here is what you need to know: Hannibal, who has spent decades using alcohol and laudanum/opium, has managed to quit both habits, between this book and the previous one, Dead and Buried. He does so successfully, but is just coming off the months-long suicidal depression that is a side-effect of withdrawal. Ben and Hannibal (and Shaw, their friend, but not Rose, Ben's wife, who is still back in New Orleans) are at a temporary fur-trading camp in the Oregon territory of the Rocky Mountains, for the plot-related reason of solving a mystery. At this camp, Hannibal has arranged a temporary "marriage" (scare quotes because it has no legal or religious meaning) that is explicitly intended to last only a few weeks, while both he and the lady are at the camp.
