Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] pellaz: You know the meme where you ask people to respond so you can tell them how cool they are? But no one ever does it because they don't want to seem like attention whores, right? So here's a different one: Name one of the people on my f-list that you've seen around this journal and maybe wondered about. I will tell you why they rock my socks, your socks, and possibly why you should friend them.

I *love* this idea. I was just complaining about I can never do the tell-me-how-cool-I-am meme, and everyone responding to my last meme said they wanted to know the people I was describing, so... ask away!

[livejournal.com profile] poisoninjest was, until recently, Jess79, and it's possible you might know her by that name instead.

She was terribly active in BtVS fandom for a long while, which was where I picked her up. She ran sites such as Pretty Pieces of Paper (http://www.ficbitch.com/pretty), an icon/wallpaper site which is currently down, and Fists and Fangs (http://fangedfour.com/fangs), which is the main Spike site and is now run by someone else. She also wrote wonderful fic, particularly Many Loves (http://www.fangedfour.com/fangs/), a giant epic of a fic that covers everything from Spike's turning up to the end of Season 5. She co-wrote Days of Our Unlives (http://www.ficbitch.com/daysofourunlives) with Kita, a Spike/Angel series that is one of the funniest things I have ever read.

This year she started grad school and got married, and so is too busy to do many fandom related things, or even post very often, but she's always interesting when she does. Especially if you like Shakespeare, which is what she's studying.

I think lots of people also don't trust that someone has them friended because of actual fondness. I'd hate to ask someone to tell me why they like me, and then they have to make shit up. "You provide carbon dioxide, which helps plants grow."

:D

Someone featured on Fandom_Wank trashed somebody for their Connor icon, and I was like, "Damn. I need a Connor icon." Isn't it pretty?

I met [livejournal.com profile] greekhoop on Meiji no Matsuei (), an RP that I unfortunately had to quit after I'd only been on it for a month or so (because I am a horrible person. Also, school was keeping me really busy). She's a very fun person, and a lovely writer. My favorite fic of hers is Anesthesia (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2104190/1/), which is a YnM/Bronze crossover. I'd also point you out to her Theory of Inverse Gooditude post (http://www.livejournal.com/users/greekhoop/31660.html), which I adore.

For a while, I was constantly getting into disagreements with her over Tale of Genji: classic work of literature or peice of crap? You decide!

[livejournal.com profile] flambeau's writing handle is Torch, and you might have heard of her under that name. I found her when I was in the Vampire Chronicles fandom, but she's written in nearly everything. She does popslash mostly right now. Her site is here (http://www.strangeplaces.net/torch/), which I really reccommend checking out. Not only is she an amazing, amazing author, but she keeps a really cool rec page, too. I keep both her and [livejournal.com profile] merripestin on my flist mainly to keep in touch at least a little with the bitchy, intelligent side of fandom that I've missed since Prospect_L died.

I sometimes think I should try to make a Prospect_L equivalent, but I'm so pan-fandom now I'm afraid it wouldn't work. Have you met [livejournal.com profile] larmadeuse? One of the few people writing good new Sentinel.

*nods* Yeah, that's the same thing I always think.

And no, I haven't, but thanks for the link! Though, you know, I was really more into the Sentinel for the fandom and people than the actual fic or characters. Blair and Jim aren't really the type of pairing I usually go for. But I'll totally look her up! ^^

She's cool. And yeah, the fandom was nifty in its day.

Ah, [livejournal.com profile] coffe_and_ink! Everyone should friend her. She's so smart, and always has the most fascinating insights into things.

She mostly posts multifandom link posts, which tend to be mostly interesting essays or cool discussions, but she also writes great book reviews. She's also a good place to find new music, or occasionally concert or movie or TV reviews. I always find something to read, watch or listen to when she posts.

I wanna know about [livejournal.com profile] lucifrix.

[livejournal.com profile] lucifrix is a very cool person who I met when I went to a con in New Jersey, and then spent a day with her in New York City. She was originally just a friend of a friend, but now I'm very glad that I have her on my flist, because she always has interesting stuff to stay. I get a lot of my news off of her, because she's always linking to articles and posts and important information. In short: way cool.
