So, who wants to help me out?

I need Tsuzuki/Hisoka fic recs. I need things that are explicity Tsuzuki/Hisoka, and where that's the focus of the story (though if anyone knows of something long and plotty and finished where their relationship is also central, that'd be way cool). Basically, I'm looking for shipper fics.

I'd never realized before just how much of the fanfic out there does not fit into the category of actual Tsuzuki/Hisoka, and not just 'Hisoka thinks about Tsuzuki' or 'Tsuzuki dreams about Hisoka' or 'they have a subtextual, vaguely cutesy moment but it never amounts to anything'. This fandom has a weird fetish for pushing the bounds of platonic friendship but never quite crossing the line.

And really, I should be able to do this on my own, because hello, crazy-mad OTP fan here, but my giant file of bookmarks languishes unreachable on my laptop, which I fear shall never work again. So tell me your favorite Tsuzuki/Hisoka fic, even if you're sure I've seen it a million times, because it feels like I must be forgetting a bunch. Rec yourself! Rec your friends! Rec things from maillists and LJ communities! Rec that crazy chick on ff.net who only every wrote one fic, but it was really good! Please?

Hee hee! (Have I told you how much I love that icon?) I have to watch Kyoto again to make sure it works (I don't think it'll work with the manga and I'll go mad trying to go through translations to figure out what happened anyway, so screw it).

If I set things in the manga can I get away with making up Tatsumi's age, you think?

Do you mean actual age or apparent age? Canonically he was 29 when he died. As for actual age, all we know for sure is that he can't have died any later than 1945 or so to have been Tsuzuki's partner "fifty years ago". I personally waver around between the idea that he's younger/less experienced than Tsuzuki, and the possibility that he's actually been around longer and partnered Tsuzuki right at the end of his Shinigami career. ^_^

The 29 thing. I mean, I can get around it but I have to rewrite/cut/something and I'm laaaazy. Because they never actually say it in the anime and I kind of have to use the anime continuity anyway so maybe I can just cheat and pretend he's younger, ignorance is bliss, blah blah blah...

The artbook one my friend tiggymalvern has says Tsuzuki was Tatsumi's third partner but no indication of who was in Meiful longer. I like the thought that he's younger because he reminds me so much of Hisoka-- that "I'm the older one here even though I'm completely not" thing.

Well, as long as you don't make him younger than Tsuzuki when he died... that would just be odd. o.O

Tatsumi's birth year is a closely guarded secret, for some reason. Matsushita gets all coy and mysterious about it and his birthplace. I personally adore the idea of younger-than-Tsuzuki-even-though-he-looks-older-Tatsumi, coupled with slightly-naive!Tatsumi, but I have to say that having him as the senior partner fits all the timelines and backstories better, at least as I see them. Yeah, that I think is why I can't make up my mind. Because the thought of him as young, trying so hard to prove himself, to be more mature than he actually is...explains so much and breaks your heart, and yet the backstory seems to contradict it. I can't make up my damn mind. I think I'll probably just write around it for this one.
