1. There's a huge statue of my great-great uncle outside the West Virginia Statehouse. Not because he's famous, but because he was an example of the "typical mountaineer".

2. When I was in High School, one of my teachers became famous for suing the school after he was punched by a student.

3. My brother was on the news once, as an example to parents, when he dialed 911 because he'd learned the number that day in school, and then told the operator that "Mommy's sleeping and won't wake up." She was taking a nap.
