Sleepy Hollow

So, who else watched the new Sleepy Hollow show last night? I quite liked the main characters and their dynamics, but every single element of the show was dumb, crazy, forgettable, or all of the above. And god, SO MUCH exposition. SO MUCH. We did not need to know all that stuff so soon.

All that said, I'm planning on watching next week. I think I may have liked the "next time on" bit more than I liked the episode itself; I'm particularly looking forward to whatever episode it is when Abbie and Crane are chained up in their underwear. (I'm sure that will not be happening for a good reason, but it is hilarious and crazy, so I approve.)

OH MY GOD THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE THING. i mean, it's completely ridiculous, holy shit! the escalation of supernatural was just - it's headless horseman! we mean death! we mean witches (good and BAD witches, mind)! we mean demons! WE MEAN DEVIL, MWAHAHAHA. i just spent all the time helplessly loling - but i think, going by the choice of opening song, they're loling as well?

(mostly it looks like an anime. you know, very ao no exorcist. this is precisely an anime approach to christianity as pillaging ground for cool villains).

ICHABOD AND ABBIE THOUGH, OMG. the snark! the accents! the eyerolling! the conversations!

also they kinda make me want to lick cheekbones. indiscriminately.

I hadn't thought of it, but you're totally right: it is like anime's approach to Christianity. Which I highly approve of. I love that sort of silly, not taking it seriously stuff.

THEY ARE SO GREAT. I don't know if I want them to be BFFs or bang, but I definitely want to watch her explain Starbucks and trousers to him ALL THE TIME. I loved their exchange about "a bird lead you here".

I saw someone had nominated it before the episode even aired! I guess they were very excited from the trailer.

(I couldn't quite tell from the pilot, but OMG I hope so much that they're going to be using Sympathy for the Devil as the theme song.)
