Oh no, Terry Pratchett! ;_; That is heartbreaking.

Terry Pratchett's situation really is heartbreaking, but as a ridiculously determined optimist, I continue to hope that his illness will progress less quickly than he and we fear. Mostly, I cling to that hope because while the documentary is new, this news is relatively old; I'm pretty sure he was having sharp exchanges with the morality police about how he'd like to be in control of how he ends his life himself, thank you very much, at least a year ago.

He's written at least two books since the diagnosis, and while dictating has clearly made a difference to how he works, the most recent Tiffany Aching book was very much worth having in the world. I'm going to be hoping there's more to come, whether it's irrational of me or not, until the very moment when there really is no more hope.

Yes, it's entirely heartbreaking. He's been suffering from Alzheimer's for some time now.
Such a nice man, and so talented.
