I am having a birthday / Escape from the Icelandic Volcano of Doom party! And all of you (well, those in the NYC region) are invited.
If you would like to come, I am having a picnic in Central Park this Saturday, May 1st, with lots of food and goodies (and possibly prohibited alcoholic beverages). Feel free to bring your own, as well as other friends. I'll be at Cherry Hill. To get there, enter the park at 72nd st (from either the east or west side) and follow the road to the middle of the park. Cherry Hill is just south of the Lake; you should be able to see it from the Bow Bridge that crosses the lake. Here's a map!
I will be there from 1 until 6; feel free to drop by anytime.
(All this is barring inclement weather. The forecast right now is good, but if it decides to rain, I will come up with somewhere else to party.)

Date: 2010-05-02 05:58 pm (UTC)But thank you for trying! If you're interested, we could meet up for coffee or something sometime. And somewhere not Central Park, which is never a good place to meet, as it inevitably tends to devolve into people going "I'm standing by the tree! No, the big tree! Don't you see me?"

Date: 2010-05-09 01:09 am (UTC)Yes, let's get coffee sometime. I work in the city during the week and am usually around during the weekends too. I live in Brooklyn (Greenpoint) so I don't know what's closer to you.
And you're so right about Central Park.

Date: 2010-06-01 09:52 pm (UTC)Anyway! My not-replying was in no way evidence of my not wanting coffee! I live in Spanish Harlem, which is out of everyone's way and also does not have a lot of places to get coffee. I'm tend to spend my days in the Washington Square/Union Square area, though, so if you're around there, I know a ton of coffee places. I also am totally willing to travel to wherever else, since I do not have much of a schedule over the summer. Do you have a good coffee place to suggest?

Date: 2010-06-10 04:49 pm (UTC)What is your Saturday like? I have a meeting at 11 am, but would love to meet up with you in the afternoon. Wanna do Grey Dog on University Place? Or perhaps somewhere in Washington Square?
My Sunday is pretty open too!

Date: 2010-06-11 09:23 pm (UTC)Saturday is great for me. I won't be available too early, since I have some errands to run, but anytime in the afternoon is great for me. I've actually never been to Grey Dog, but I walk by it all the time, so that should be fine! Just let me know when you're free.
