Hello LJ! I went to London! I took your advice and saw cool things! And now, as you may have guessed, I am stuck in London. Because of a volcano. Seriously. It now looks like I'll be here until Wednesday afternoon. My girlfriend is with me, and we have a hotel room for tonight, but after that (Sunday night, Monday, Tuesday) we're worried about finding a place, given the number of other people also stuck here.

So, there are the two of us, who promise to be low-key and provide recompense. Um, anyone in London have a couch or spare room?

Heya, I'm a fannish and RL friend of threewalls - read both yours and your girlfriend's post about being stuck due to the volcano. Now, I'm not in London, but Cambridge, but it's very accessible to London (trains go from Kings Cross station, get there in 50 mins if you get a direct one - and we're very close to the station as well.) and as it happens we have a spare room in our house at the moment - single bed, but there's a spare mattress as well. Likewise, Oxford is not really helpful I suspect, but if worst came to worst I have a mattress and a sofa! Looking at rm's journal it looks like you've got London offers... at least you're stuck here due to something EXCITING like a volcano, rather than another strike?

I actually can't offer space right now, as I have other people here, but there will be space again Wednesday. I hope you have found something for now, but if you are not able to fly on Wednesday, and need somewhere to stay from then on, I have only a one bedroom flat, but there is a sofa bed in the living room, and I live in Brixton, which is on the Victoria line.
