I am super busy right now, due to being in the run-ups for my comps (aka Quals/Orals/why does every school have a different name for this/too big test). But, having briefly surfaced, I have some things to share with you all:

A Journal of Certain Events of Scientific Interest from the First Survey Voyage of the Southern Waters by HMS Ocelot, As Observed by Professor Thaddeus Boswell, DPhil, MSc, or A Lullaby by Helen Keeble. OMG THIS STORY IS SO GOOD. It is 1800s mermaids! But it is also song and language and children and grief and gender and stories and Just. Best. Thing. Ever. Read this now, people, I demand it. This story makes me so completely happy, even though it also kind of makes me cry.

Speaking of wonderful things that make you cry, I have now finished Season Three of Buffy. Buffy winning the Class Protector award! The class throwing off their graduation robes to reveal weapons! Willow deciding to go to UC Sunnydale! Buffy/Faith prophecy dream (dude, come on, what other show can plan that far ahead?)! The Mayor and Faith's weird but sweet but creepy but awesome father/daughter thing! Also, of course, The Wish, which is basically my favorite thing ever.

I'm thrilled we finally got to cry at TV together.

I love "The Wish" SO MUCH. Season Three is my favorite season, and not just because that's when I started watching. So much love.
