This morning, on the subway, a katydid landed on my hand. It was such a bright green, in the florescent light and blue-gray plastic of the subway car, so vivid and alive it was almost unreal, like a little stroke of pure green. I turned my hand to get a closer look at it, and it flew away, spiraling through the air before disappearing.
