First Lines
Dec. 1st, 2008 03:53 amWhooo, paper-writing. I will not be sleeping tonight, but I do not feel guilty, as this would not have been such a problem if I hadn't been stuck in a car for an additional seven hours than it normally takes to drive home.
From everyone: Put your music player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first song is the title.
Like People, Stars Evolve
Someone's knocking on my kitchen door,
I'm losing ground.
(...peace)
Working in the corner,
I could walk this fine line between elation and success.
I'll write you a song and it won't be hard to sing.
I was a quick, wet boy, diving too deep for coins,
when you were young:
now architect, now archaeologist.
Step right up! March! Push!
Imagine how it would be...
Never was a cornflake girl,
well, that was easy waiting.
I came here to make you dance tonight.
Putting this night down to bed,
our daydream spills from my gold head,
and all our sins-
to cheat on Maine islands-
Well, my heart knows me better than I know myself, so I'm gonna let it do all the talking
while I go over it in my head.

Date: 2008-12-01 11:03 pm (UTC)Unfortunately I'm listening to music with Japanese lyrics at the moment, so unfortunately doing this would be a tad too difficult. (The first line of the song that was playing just now, though, is so sweet: もしも君がいなくなってしまったら、たとえば猫や芋虫なってしまった, "moshimo kimi ga inakunatteshimattara, tatoeba neko ya imomushi ni natteshimatta" = "if you would disappear, turn for example into a cat or a caterpillar". I was at some point puzzling over it, that's why I know it now. ^^')
