I'm registered, still, to vote in Ohio. I sent off my application for an absentee ballot about two weeks ago; I haven't gotten it yet, but am unworried, since this doesn't seem like an unreasonable processing time.

However, today I did get election materials in the mail! I received the Ohio GOP leadership team, Republican Slate (they are ready to fight for me), as well as Steve Stivers's campaign flyer, which informs me, among other things, that he is interested in keeping America's borders strong ("those seeking citizenship must learn the English language"). Please remember that this is Ohio. We do not really share a border with Mexico, but perhaps Steve is really concerned about those illegal immigrants from Canada (who would still have to swim across a Great Lake to get to Ohio).

...I have nothing to add.

Two weeks? Maybe my place was just hyper-fast, but that doesn't sit right with me somehow.

Well, I got it now! Just another day or two after this post, in fact.

Sometimes, I wish I was still registered to vote in Florida. *sigh*
It's not like my one little drop of a blue vote will go anywhere towards stemming the red tide in my state. But, I'm still gonna use it. ^.^

And dude, I love that icon. =D

*and can't believe she used the phrase 'red tide'... sounds disgusting. well, it is, but - you know.* =P

Hey, invading Ohio was a major discussion point in last week's English language debate!

Maybe he means...the interstellar borders! Can't have all those extraterrestrials touching down in the Midwest, speaking their weird languages with thirty-seven vowels and taking jobs away from the humans. :D

Good luck with your absentee ballot--I hope it arrives soon! (This election has been way too nerve-wracking for everyone already; I was about to tear the house apart last night when I thought I'd lost my registration card.)

Hee! Of course, why didn't I consider that he meant the Martians.

It came! Yay!

I just changed my voter registration to NY 2 weeks ago--Friday is the deadline to register in NY. I'm a little worried about it, because I haven't been confirmed as registered in NY yet on the Board of Elections site...

I'm also thinking Ohio probably needed my vote more...

Well, as long as you vote somewhere! Hopefully you've heard by now?

Ugh, I still have not received confirmation. I will have to contact the board of elections at the end of the week. My SO registered by mail after me, and still has not been confirmed, so we will see.

Do you know the deadline on absentee voting in Ohio?

I did a commercial job near Lancaster Pa this week, and I saw hundreds of McCain signs, and one Obama sign. I'm very worried.

You just have to have your request for a absentee ballot in by a few days (maybe a week) before the election, have it the ballot either returned or postmarked by election day.

I think the Obama site has a place where you can see where in the country you're registered.

Yay for voting in swing states! I'm a registered independent, so when I was living with my parents (and used a landline), I used to field republican calls all the time. It always sorta made me laugh.

Yay, vote in Ohio! :) And also, Slate maybe needs to look at a map (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WALIARHHLII) or something?
