bb_shousetsu is a zine of original boys-love stories; this issue's theme is May/December Romances. I do have to say that it's a kink which doesn't appeal to me At All (because I'd much rather read about a pair of equals than fetishize a power difference, although of course just because it's not my thing doesn't mean other people shouldn't like it, etc, etc) and nonetheless the writing in this issue was really amazing. There wasn't a single story I didn't like. Here, though, are my favorites:

Phallos Hippikos: A Moral Tale A djinni! And hilarious stick figures! This was a very fun read, and with a great pair of bickering characters.

And That's The News ~~AWESOME COLBERT/O'REILLY SLASH~~ I mean, um, two completely fictional political pundits have dinner after a show. And it's funny and well-written and an incredibly enjoyable read.

Sky Castles A strange little story about a strange little boy. I dunno, it's hard to describe what this one's about, except that I loved the writing and the vivid details of the characters and the world. Slightly fantasy-ish, slightly historical-ish, very good.

In Tune I really enjoyed this story. It's quiet, and less sunny than Bang*Bang stories tend to be, but it's still nice, and the POV character was exactly sketched out.

Straight Edge Shaving is hot, yo. Or possibly just things involving edged weapons are hot. I don't care, I'm pleased.

Synergy This story is creepy. Genuinely scary, in the good moody way, rather than with jump-scares. Excellent writing, which evokes an entire world.

This Side of Saturn A very slightly scifi-ish story, this one is more about highschool sweethearts, how things change, and an incredible twist on the theme. This story has amazing writing.
