brigdh: (ugh winter)

Yesterday, ice cream.
Today, neon slicks on streets;
Wind shivers puddles.

This shit sucks.

Oh god it DOES. And did you see they're predicting snow for tomorrow? UGH.

Yes. We will have to look at it as a Rugged Adventure. or something.

Heh. I prefer the kinds of adventure that don't feature risk of frostbite. Couldn't we trade this in for rabid bears, or something? That would make a better story afterwards, too.

And impress Stephen Colbert.

Is there a risk of frostbite? I shall have to pack snacks in case we are stranded in the less than scenic conference hotel.

Probably not really. I'm just prone to over exaggeration when it comes to the cold. Weather.com says 2-4 inches of snow, and temperatures in the low to mid 30s.

Ah that's good. I heard 6 inches.

You're so reasonable. Until it comes to weather. Then you turn into Alec.

Well, I did just put in my own zipcode, so possibly there'd be more snow outside of the city.

Ha! Oh, my unreasonableness about the cold is insane and legendary. I can also do associated rants on cold-weather clothes, amounts of sunlight in winter, my lack of a tan, the difficulty of being outside in the cold, benefits of too hot vs too cold, and basically anything associated with the topic at all. Because cold is EVIL and loathsome and proof of the universe's personal vendetta against me.

Also, it works for you. You do get that it's actually charming complaint, yes?

And actually, I was told the six inches for here. So still, this is better.

Yeah. Or, well, it's certainly the sort of insanity I'm amused by in other people, so I doubted anyone has been deeply irritated by my refusal to accept winter.

We can also hope that it'll be like the last few times major snow was predicted, and it ended up barely covering the ground.

weirdquark: Stack of books (let it snow)

Ha. Up here in sunny Massachusetts, we're supposed to get 6-12 inches followed by sleet and freezing rain. I laugh at your predicted 2-4 inches.

I don't think I could survive in Massachusetts. I continue to be glad that I didn't end up in Wisconsin for grad school; I wouldn't have made it through seven winters there.

Here, in wolf-on-the-streets-and-rabid-bears-eastern-europe is stupidly warm. I miss the snow very much. Maybe we should trade...? (he, he, "dear weather gods, could you kindly send me an american snow?")

Hee. Oh, we should. Believe me, if I knew a way to send this snow to you, I would. Or, you know, I'd send it anywhere, as long as it was away from me. *grins*
