Oh god, I don't want to write my Yuletide story and I don't want to produce an outline and presentation for my paper tomorrow. Didn't I have willpower at one point? Didn't I have motivation? (Yeah, I know, I'm pretty sure that never happened.)

Isn't there some sort of meme going around at the moment that I could use for a distraction? I could always take drabble requests, I suppose, but heh, there's a bad idea.

Wait- I know one! Comment and I will post a song that reminds me of you. Or hey, request a theme/character/word/whatever and I'll see what song I can find for it.

And randomly, also have Regina Spektor - Samson (http://www.sendspace.com/file/khn5wi) (Note: this one doesn't remind me of you, I just think it's the type of thing you would enjoy listening to. If you don't already have it, which is possible.)

The lack of willpower happens to me on a cyclical basis.

I consider Aimee Mann's Momentum as the theme song for such times, what with the power rock anthem beat and title and the irony of the lyrics.

::comments:: Even though I'm not sure we've known each other long enough. Actually, I'm not even sure if I myself could do this meme, even for someone I have known long enough.

Thank you! I do so enjoy getting music as well as giving it.

No worries; I expected people I know even less well than you to reply to this meme. Still, these are ones I think you might like less than songs that remind me of you:

Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood (http://www.sendspace.com/file/zvxxxi)
Magnetic Fields - How Fucking Romantic (http://www.sendspace.com/file/twq4e2)

I need sexy songs! I must get the correct mood for my first foray into hot girl-on-girl action.

Ah, sexy songs. I can certainly do that.

Melissa Ferrick - Drive (http://www.sendspace.com/file/51xnn2) My very favorite f/f sexy song, though you could certainly apply it to any other gender combination.
J Englishman - Abused (http://www.sendspace.com/file/blpw61) My brand-new favorite godDAMN that's hot song.
Velvet Acid Christ - Slut (http://www.sendspace.com/file/72u1uq)
Hawksley Workman - Striptease (http://www.sendspace.com/file/s3yfye) Sexy and somehow also totally cute and sweet. Or possibly I'm insane. Certainly the most healthy-relationship song of the ones I'm uploading.
Puscifer - Rev 22:20 (http://www.sendspace.com/file/iuwe7k)
Naked Raven - Skin (http://www.sendspace.com/file/jbqqk9) It should not be possible for chamber pop to be this sexy.

I'll stop now. Also, wow, let's just pretend that my kinks are not totally obvious in these songs, shall we?

Personally I blame winter -- takes too much energy just to stay warm. (Of course, I'd happily blame winter for pretty much anything *shakes fist*)

And, music! Yay!

Someone who understands the terribleness of winter! I am also willing to blame most things on the season, particularly since at the moment staying warm while sitting at my desk involves being wrapped in a blanket, which makes it hard to type or reach for things.

The Mountain Goats - Duke Ellington (http://www.sendspace.com/file/webv8i)
Marc Broussard - Home (http://www.sendspace.com/file/9u77z1) Because I think you'd like this rather than that it reminds me of you.
The Be Good Tanyas - Rain and Snow (http://www.sendspace.com/file/6tsoy1) I am restraining myself from posting my entire "I hate winter" playlist, but here's one song from it.

Man, it's hard finding songs that remind me of you that I did not actually get from you, or that I know you already have.

Toad the Wet Sprocket - Walk on the Ocean (http://www.sendspace.com/file/nwp5n4)
Butterfly Boucher - Another White Dash (http://www.sendspace.com/file/c5dg01)
Curve - Hell Above Water (http://www.sendspace.com/file/yp5jop)
Gnarls Barkley - Storm Coming (http://www.sendspace.com/file/fd2fug)

By the way, since you're looking for lots of music, do you already have/would you want 'Rogue's Gallery'- that CD of pirate songs that came out a few months ago?

I'd love a song. And if you think of any songs for my whacked out Librarians At Large plus World Travelling Polo Ponies, that'd be good too. ;)

Also, appropro of the other comment, which I meant to reply to but have not yet, I think I gave you the wrong title for that Swordspoint story. It was certainly yuri and I checked out the story in the new edition (yay! Amazon search feature) and that doesn't seem to be. If I run across the correct one, I'll let you know. And maybe my brain was right after all, and it was in 1987. Hmmm.

Oo, Librarians I can do!

The Smiths - Handsome Devil (http://www.sendspace.com/file/yqkgvu) "There's more to life than books / But not much more"
And especially The Flash Girls - Me & Dorothy Parker (http://www.sendspace.com/file/idkoir)

Hmmm. Maybe you're thinking of a story by Ellen Kushner set in a different world? I know for certain that Delia Sherman's got several f/f stories.

Certainly! (I just had to take a break for a few days to finish off my paper.)

Songs Ohia - The Body Burned Away (http://www.sendspace.com/file/6x19r6). It's not the lyrics. I think the song I'd associate you with would be very sparse and understated, and this is the closest song I have to the imaginary music I want.

Start Trouble - Move Bitch (http://www.sendspace.com/file/c6alrb) This isn't the original but, well, yeah. XD
