First scene of my New Year's Resolution [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story finished! In very, very rough draft form, true, it consists of 597 words, which is well on its way to the minimum goal of 1,000. Especially considering that the second scene will be much longer than this one, and there might even need to be a third; I'm not sure yet.

-dear god, this coffeeshop just put on a Neutral Milk Hotel CD. That is unbelievably cool.

Anyway. I'm posting this less because I think any of you sincerely need to know, then because it encourages me to keep writing. Cheer me on!

ETA: 1,081 words, whooo! And now I think I need to go eat something and take a break for a while.

I do cheer. I have every confidence that you can do it, and I look forward to the results.

I only wish I could say anything nearly as optimistic about any of the stories I'm theoretically working on.

Thank you! I have till Sunday, after all, so I think I'll have no problem finishing it. I might even manage this one in time to have it beta'd, which would be quite the unusual accomplishment. Sign-ups aren't till the end of the month, truly, so I have a bit of extra leeway, though I find it's best not to allow myself to start expanding deadlines or I'll take it too far.

That's too bad. I'd love to read something new by you. Though surely you can't feel too guilty, with everything else you've accomplished recently.

Hee, I had a pre-emptive panic attack where all I read was [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story finished. I was all argh, did I miss the sign-up, how how how?

Ha! No, you're good. Sign-ups don't even start until the end of the month. Though you can go and suggest fandoms already.

I'm trying to narrow it down to six, but it's hard considering I'm usually the person jampacking the list with animanga. I was really hoping they'd start with a clean sweep instead of going back to the old drop down menus, because it's so much more uncertain and tricky this way.

Actually I've really got to put down the yuletide toys and get stuck back into my yaoi challenge story *g*

Heh. Well, I suppose I could offer to submit a few for you; I doubt I'm going to come up with more than two or three.

Well, I was brainstorming animanga stuff here (http://community.livejournal.com/yuletide/208951.html?thread=1574967#t1574967), so if you're inspired by any of them, submit away *g*!

Ooo, yes, Gankutsuou would be awesome! That's the only one I've seen, heh. But I very much would love stories for it.

The only fandom I deeply desire this year is Swordspoint, and I have no fear that it won't be nominated. Other than that, I'll probably throw in a few Shakespeare, maybe Arthurian legends... hmmm, does the Bible count as a small fandom? I like Bible fanfic.
