Study shows 'The Daily Show' has as much, or more, news content as mainstream broadcast news. Jesus, no duh. After you cut out the human interest stories and the weather and the "Coming up next: what local intersection is deadliest?!', there's nothing left to normal news.
Today, I saw Terry Pratchett and had him sign some of my books. He's thinner and older than I'd pictured, but I loved his accent. Man, in one month in New York, more interesting people come through than in three years at Ohio.
On the negative side of things, look at this! This is the definitive list of Swordspoint fanfiction, in that I know of no stories that exist but aren't on it (yes, I realize there's only about 20 stories total, but I'm fairly certain I've already complained about that). Do you see how there is only one story under 'Alec-centered fics'? Do you see that it is written by me? Why must the fates hate me so? Clearly I need to pimp more people into the fandom, but that is hard when everyone I know has already read the book anyway. *tempts you all*
