Damn. I went to take a nap this afternoon, and I had the first nightmare I've had in years. And I know, I know: details of dreams are only interesting to the people who had them, but it was one of those ones were you keep thinking you've woken up, but you're really still dreaming. I kept waking up over and over, and trying desperately to remember if this was what my room really looked like and never being sure, and then something would happen to make it clear that it was a dream, like my roommate turning into a wild elephant and bursting up the stairs (god, my unconscious is weird), or the walls melting, or people appearing and disappearing into shadows. By the time I actually woke up, I was dizzy with the effort of trying to scream but not being able to make any noise.

God, that sucked. No wonder I quit having them.

I find dreams fascinating. They are your subconscious dealing with your everyday problems, working out issues, and they let your insecurities run wild. I seldom get nightmares in the sense of terrifying dreams but I do get stress dreams where I wake up disturbed. Not frightened, just disturbed.

Perhaps, since you were having trouble discerning dream from reality, there's something in you life that you're not sure is real or just your imagination working overtime? Just my amateurish thoughts on your dream...

I tend to find them pretty interesting too, and it can be fun to analyze them. This one, though, I think is just the result of my having started my period. Mainly because I can think of absolutely no correlation between wild elephants and talking dolls and boiling peppers to anything going on in my real life. *grins*
