Stealing a meme from Dorian:

If you were going to cast an actress to play me, who would you choose? AKA, What celebrity do you think I might look like?

I suppose I might get warped results because I actually have posted a few photographs of myself, but this is such an interesting meme that I am tempted nonetheless. I like it particularly because it doesn't work for me personally; I don't think of people in visual terms at all, even the ones I know in real life and see every day. I seem to have a much harder time learning to recognize anyone than normal people do, and it's not unusual for me to not be able to remember simple details like hair color even after knowing someone for months. Which, heh, leads to me forever getting into conversations like, "I cut my hair! Why haven't you said anything?" "I didn't notice." "It used to be past my waist!" "...Really?"

All true, but you bring something more to it than an amazing mental catalogue of celebrity faces. (Not that the catalogue isn't impressive by itself.) But the analogical matching is an awesome thing to behold.

Generally speaking, I'm not sure how useful this meme is; clearly most of us are struggling with it. But you? I want to know your answers for everybody I've ever encountered on lj. Including you. And me.

Well, thanks! *G* I think a lot of it might have to do with how both visual artistic talent and literary talent (and musical talent) run in my family, so there's a tendency to expose the next generation to all three as much as possible and see what takes. So while I've always been inclined toward writing, I also do a lot of visualization, and will frequently make note of faces the remind me of characters. This meme is essentially asking me to "cast" you all based on our interactions, and in that way it's like visualizing characters.

I have a very hard time doing it for myself, because my knowledge of how I really look interferes with the "impressionism" at work. However, you have been the ultra-competent Diana Rigg as Mrs. Emma Peel (http://www.serv.net/~bcollins/leather.jpg) from our first discussion.

You rule this meme even more than you know.

I have that leather catsuit. Well, almost that leather catsuit: as close as I was likely to come to it while shopping in places that carried '80s Azzadine Alaia, as opposed to, ahem, specialty shops. I used to wear it from time to time when I was with the giant international law firm, and needed to frighten investment bankers.

Really. You're scary good at this.

::laughs::

Somehow, this does not surprise me. *G*

More people need to do this meme, because I really enjoy considering how I "view" them.
