This is the day I've had:

1. The girl who had my Student ID was supposed to meet me at 11:00am. I was there, I waited, I did not see anyone else standing around who appeared to be waiting for someone. After about twenty minutes, I noticed a girl talking on a cellphone nearby; her voice sounded vaguely like the girl's I had talked to last night, so I walked over to her. "Hey, excuse me," I said. "Did you find an ID?"

She paused. "Oh! The woman at Fees and Deposits has it. You'll have to go get it from them."

I thought about this. Perhaps I misunderstood. Surely someone would not call me and arrange a meeting, only to give the ID to someone else. "Huh? Where?"

"Fees and Deposits? You know, where you pay tuition..."

"In Lincoln?" Lincoln Tower is on the other side of campus from where we are, and this campus is so big that "other side" entails a fifteen to twenty minute walk.

"Yeah."

2. So I walked to Lincoln. I went to Fees and Deposits. They did not have my ID. They had never heard of my ID. Neither had any of the other buildings in Lincoln. I realized that there was something wrong here, that this was some kind of set-up, because people are assholes and get amusement out of annoying other people.

3. I hauled ass back to where I supposed to meet the girl. She's no longer there, unsurprisingly. On the chance that she wanted to meet there because she had a class in the building, I storm through all the floors, peering in the classrooms and fully intending to haul her out there by her hair and break her jaw if I find her. I didn't, which is probably good, as I don't need to be charged with assault.

4. I had to go to class, which ran nearly an hour longer than usual.

5. My little brother showed up on campus and begged me to buy alcohol for him and his friends. I agreed, thinking it couldn't more than a few minutes. We then spent over an hour visiting seven different stores so we can find some specific brand.

6. I got home and intended to *69 the girl who called me last night and threaten to call the police on her if she doesn't give me my shit back immediately. I then find out that, because these phones require you to dial 9 before outside calls, *69 doesn't work.

7. I cooked some food, since it's nearly 7:00 and I hadn't had time to eat since yesterday, and while pulling a bowl from the cabinet, manage to dump an entire box of pasta on the burner.

*sighs* I just want to go to bed by this point.

*Hugs you* I'm sorry you had such a hard day, hon. I've been there many times with the pasta (it's like a curse) -- doesn't it smell funky?

Oh, you mean has-my-ID girl, right? Wasn't sure, since you replied to [livejournal.com profile] wesleysgirl's comment.

Yes! She is nuts. Argh.

*hugs* Thanks.

And yeah, it does smell awful: like curning hair or something. Ew.

The only explanation I can come up with is maybe the cell phone girl wasn't has-your-ID girl -- she was had-someone-else's-ID girl and you somehow missed the girl who does have your ID or she was late or something came up and she couldn't show? It's so weird. I hope it straightens itself out.

That's what I hoping has happened, if only because things will be easiest to sort out that way. Unfortunately, it seems like almost too much of a coincidence.

Still, I can hope! And thanks.

I don't suppose you can report the idiot practical joker who has your ID to the dean's office, or something? *69 may not work, but there's got to be a record of where that call came from somewhere, and harassment is so uncool.

That's what I'm planning on doing. However, for the moment I'm holding out hope that, by some amazing coincidence, the girl who sent me to Lincoln was not actually my ID girl. If no one's called me in a day or two, though, I'm reporting the whole thing.

On the plus side, since she called my dorm number, which no one actually uses, it's quite likely that I could wait a month to do anything and she'd still be the most recent number.

Ì'm thinking my reaction to a day like that would be "head, meet wall... repeat as desired". :\ Gargh.

Heh. Yeah, that was pretty much what I did.

...you know, I'm getting so much more use out of this Sanzo icon that I thought I would. "It's pretty, I like it," I thought, "but I'd never get angry enough to actually use it."

Hahahahaha, was I wrong.

Okay, okay, done with the teasing. So what did happen with all this? You didn't say on Sunday.

Hee, I did. Very much better.

Well, on Sunday nothing more had yet happened; I was still waiting to see if she'd call me again. This (http://www.livejournal.com/users/wordsofastory/155963.html) is the update for today (sorry, too lazy to type it out again, hee).
