I lost my student ID card again today. I say again because I'm fairly incapable of going a month without losing it. Fortunately, I nearly always get them back; whoever finds them will simply use the name on the card to look me up and give it to me, and this has indeed happened today.

But. Sometimes, I really, really wish people would just leave things where the fuck they find them. Because inevitably I realize that it's lost within minutes, go back to where it should be, but nooo, someone's already been a Good Samaritan and picked it up, and then I have to go sit in my room and wait for them to call me, and then it always turns out that they live, like, in some fucking suburb on the other side of the city and I have to wait until they feel like coming back to campus to get the thing, and meanwhile I can't get into any campus buildings or my room or use the computer labs or any of the million other things I need to do, like buy food.

ARGH. *stabs*

Nah, it's my keys I have to worry about.

I have to check five times in a row to make sure they're in my bag before I leave the room because I am that paranoid.

I lost my card wallet though, once, that had my student ID, bank card, debit card and age ID all in it, and had a potential meltdown because that was literally MY ENTIRE LIFE. It had, thankfully, been left where it was (some people are just so wonderful by leaving things right where they are), but I still lectured myself severely for my stupidity and am now paranoid about where I leave things.

On the other hand, all I need my student ID for is to borrow books. They're pretty lax on everything else.

Hee. Technically, I lost my keys too, since they were on the same keyring as my ID. But I've never lost those before, so I wasn't upset about them. *laughs*

And your strategy is what I need to do; I'm so tired of losing them all the time.

Once, I used to keep all the cards and stuff in my wallet along with my money. Then, once day I was paying for something and I took out the cards to get to my money and left them in my handbag instead of putting them back in my wallet like I usually did.

Fifteen minutes later, my wallet got stolen. Technically, I did lose €25, but it could have been a lot worse.

I even started putting my spare set of keys in my school bag so if my handbag ever goes missing, at least I'll still be able to get inside. Now, watch and wait for the day I get mugged when I don't have my schoolbag with me...

Whoa, that's pretty lucky, actually. Good thing you didn't get everything stolen.

I lost my BuckID so many times, it's ridiculous. Mostly because I used it while I was a tour guide, so it was always in a pocket in a different pair of jeans. Sometimes I would have to go weeks without it.

Yep, I always keep mine in a pocket too, so it ends up falling out somewhere. I could start throwing it in my bag, but I have to use it so often that I hate having to rummage around trying to find it.

...though I guess that'd be less annoying than losing it, heh.
