And ironically enough, it really should have been Boondock Saints, since I watched it yesterday. My little brother, who'd never seen it before, happened to come home with a copy of it someone had lent him, and who could say no to slashy violence?
Off on another one of my tangents, I'm afraid, but I've been meaning to ask where in the series that icon is from. I've only ever seen Sanzo with a short-barrelled Smith & Wesson revolver. What's he doing with what looks like a 1911-style semiautomatic? What part of the series have I clearly completely missed?
I can't tell you anything about the gun- my knowledge of guns is limited to the fact that there's a trigger at one end and the other end goes boom- but you haven't missed anything. The picture's from one of the artbooks.
This (http://www.animevisions.net/Pictures/saiyuki/Saiyuki02.jpg) is the full image. And for fun, here's the accompanying pictures of Goku (http://www.animevisions.net/Pictures/saiyuki/Saiyuki07.jpg), Gojyo (http://www.animevisions.net/Pictures/saiyuki/Saiyuki23.jpg), and Hakkai (http://www.animevisions.net/Pictures/saiyuki/Saiyuki12.jpg). I would swear that I orginally saw these pictures as a single image with all four of them, but the only thing I can find on various galleries seems to be seperate pictures. My memory must be going.
Ah, those are pretty images. I'm glad to know they're not from the manga, because that would, as I said, have implied that I'd missed something -- and something good, too. Unlike some people, Minekura seems like she can be trusted not to forget what kind of weapon a main character was carrying and substitute something else, at random and for no plot-related reason.
If this is from one of the artbooks, though, all is clear.
I did hear that! Very recently in fact- I think I was watching Adult Swim, and saw a commercial that mentioned they'd be showing it next year. I can't wait to see it, though I'm sure hearing the voices of the characters will be terribly surprising.
And how lucky! I've never got to hear him speak, but I'm sure he's great.
