brigdhEvery summer, I go through a phase where I no longer have the attention to deal with livejournal. I have no idea what causes this. I'm not announcing my withdrawal- hardly, since it's inevitable that I'll get bored enough every few days to hop back on and catch up, no matter how apathetic I get. I'm just pointing it out in case by rate of replying to comments and posts and emails starts to get spotty.
Randomness:
1. I was sitting on our back porch a little before sunset: late enough the horizon has started to turn orange, but early enough that that the sun was still high up and too bright to look at directly. I was reading something, and suddenly heard the sound of someone walking through the grass towards me. I looked up and startled the cat, who froze when I made eye contact with him. There are a lot of cats who wander wild around here; they have owners, but as far as I can tell, they never go inside. This one didn't even have a collar, though he was much too clean and well-fed to be feral. There aren't many busy streets nearby, and my backyard opens onto a park/forest/reserve-type thing, so there's plenty of small wildlife for them to catch.
Anyway. I made the appropriate here kitty kitty kissy-kissy noises to get it to come and let me pet it, but it ignored me, holding still. I shrugged, not willing to press the issue he it didn't want to come. As soon as I was quiet, it crept forward, hopping onto the porch to curl up about a foot from me, and pretended I wasn't there.
Cats, man. They're the divas of the pet world.
2. I've been watching a lot of Saiyuki. I've made it through the first series, and have started on Reload. Oh my God. Gojyo's hair is actually red! I didn't think that was allowed. Good art, good animation, good storylines! I think I'm in shock.
Though nothing has been as surprising as the Limp Biscuit-esque opening song. Speaking of which, does anyone have a mp3 of Fukisusabu Kaze No Naka De, the second ending song? Because I want.
