[livejournal.com profile] fst has no soundtrack for Sanzo.

I- I wish I hadn't noticed that. There's only 20 days left in the month! I'm working on a different playlist right now! I decided I loved him two days ago; I have no ready song-calls!

Someone else do this so that I'm not tempted.

And on an entirely different subject, no really, I swear, I have a new icon. It makes me happy.

How can a person not love Sanzo? He definitely needs a playlist

Very nice icon. I've always thought it's interesting that Sanzo's standard art-book pose would be so ... suicidal.

I agree. And speaking of icons- yours is very nice too! It's new, isn't it?

Yeah, I'm not sure what's up with that. Just for the aesthetic value, I suppose; it's not like the various pictures of the four of them in suits or uniforms make any more sense.

#^^# Thanks. It's all part of my latest obsession. I was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] ranalore's (brilliant) suggestion of that Fuel song for Hisoka -- I just had to try and make an icon of Hisoka in his I've come to bring you hell mode. 'Cause as much as I love the insecure, awkward and secretly kind side of Hisoka, it's his kick-ass indomitability that just owns me.

Mmmm, yes. I adore that song. There just is nothing better than some kick-ass Hisoka.

Don't look now, but I may have talked [livejournal.com profile] ladysisyphus into it.

COOL! Now I can be lazy and allow other people to do all the work. MWAHAHAHA.

Personal character soundtracks are where it's at, yo.

Actually, while I like [livejournal.com profile] fst quite a bit, I just feel character interpretation is such an individual thing that, at best, you can find maybe a half dozen songs that a majority of a given group of fans will agree suits a given character. Or at least, they will agree this while in a given mood. This is why I will toss a lot of songs out there when people ask for recs for characters/pairings, some of which I peronally feel are only tangentially related. The song I find least applicable may be the song that nails the character for someone else.

At any rate, I will probably upload more Sanzo music one of these days and link it in my LJ. As to whether other people consider it Sanzo music, that remains to be seen.

I agree. No playlists ever work entirely for me, but I like to see the songs other people choose, if just to look at which ones I agree with and which ones I don't. Even if I end up replacing most of their list with songs I prefer, it's neat to get a glimpse of someone else's interpretation. And sometimes people's songcalls can work entirely well, but in a way you never would have thought of yourself- [livejournal.com profile] windschaser's Muraki/Tsuzuki one worked that way for me.

I, for one, will be very happy if you upload more Sanzo music. By the way, did I tell you I found a new remix of 'Haunted'? It's pretty similar to the original, but a but more rock-ish.

I just have yet to grab a soundtrack at [livejournal.com profile] fst that really, really works for me. I think it's partly that my tastes are different from most of those who've posted for fandoms with which I'm familiar, and I think it's partly that I'm looking for different things in a soundtrack than a lot of people seem to be. I'm not just looking for something that captures the character, I'm looking for things to listen to while I write the character, and my requirements for writing music are...very individualized.

As I am a huge fan of different versions of a song, I shall now bat my eyelashes at you in the hope you might have a copy of the remix to upload for me. *G*

And I still so need a music icon of some kind. *ponders*

Ah, I see. I tend to tune out whatever music I have playing while I'm writing, and while huge, obvious discprencies might bother me (say, having heavy metal playing if I was writing Tara from BtVS), most problems I won't even notice.

Of course! Haunted (Chris Vienna Mix) (http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=06X39H0XWOWQO0HFLBJC2QK9CK)

I tune it out on one level, but on another I use it to build...ambience, I suppose. So it's important that it's right.

Thanks! Oh, this is a good remix. It's so desolate and angry with the echo effects and the stripped-down vocals and the very, very crunchy guitars. It sounds even more Sanzo to me. *G*

Personally, I think "The Outsider" by A Perfect Circle fits Sanzo so well it hurts. And "Reach for my Revolver" by Mission of Burma is a good one, too. As a die-hard Sanzo fangirl, couldn't help but put my two cents in. ^^;;

Oh, those are both good ones! Back when they used to play "Outsider" on the radio all the time, I'd keep trying to make it work for Hisoka, but it always struck me as a bit too angry. It does work so well for Sanzo, though.

And I haven't heard the Mission to Burma one, but I looked up the lyrics and I'll have to find a copy now. *grins*

Thanks!

On my Saiyuki playlist, the two Sanzo songs are Better Than Ezra's "Recognize" and Mission of Burma's "That's When I Reach for My Revolver," with Bush's "Everything Zen" as an ensemble song with a tilt towards Sanzo and Peter Mulvey's "Thirty" as something I'm contemplating and will probably either cut or mentally reassign.

Oh, thank you! "That's When I Reach for my Revolver" seems to be a fairly popular Sanzo song, but I like "Recognize" even better; it's much more rock-ish than other Better Than Ezra songs I've heard.
