This afternoon, I rearranged by icons and made a new one. *gestures towards icon* Because that was a productive use of my time, really.

Three more days of classes. Then two finals. I can do that. The hard part is fitting in grad school applications somewhere, and technically I have an entire month, yet realistically, I'm going to have to convince professors who barely know me to write me letters of recommendation this week, since I won't be on campus during winter break.

I played part of Silent Hill 4 during Thanksgiving Break, but didn't have enough time to finish it. I think I like 3 better, but that's probably only because I got a great deal of amusement out of playing a tiny, blond, green-eyed teenager in an orange sweater who was rude and kickass and got help from an older man in a trenchcoat. (Okay, okay, so it wasn't Hisoka, it was some chick named Heather, but it was close enough to entertain me.)

My [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_challenge fic is due in exactly two weeks. Today, I came up with a plot. You see how close I am to being done. *winces* Alright, I did have 1,077 words already, but didn't know where they were going. And now that I do know, I can see how long the story'll be, and this has in no way made me hopeful about finishing it in time, because Jesus, what happened to the WP part of PWP, inspiration? I needed to write porn, not an epic. *whines*

We watched a few minutes of 'Seven Samurai' in one of my classes today. I <3 that movie so much. But you know, nothing beats buying the DVD of 'The Magnificent Seven' and watching the original trailer. They describe the plot in *song*. And then introduce each character as "The Leader!" "The Rebel!" "The Ladies Man!" The fifties were on *crack*.

It snowed here, on Thanksgiving and the day after. Not cool, Universe.

At some point, I'm going to have to arrange all the 'winter sucks' songs I have and make a soundtrack. Because, wow, I sure have a lot of them. I wonder how that could have happened. ^^; Anyone have suggestions for ones I might not have heard of?

Today I went to see a professor who I have only ever had one class with, and that was a fairly large intro-level course over a year ago. He recognized me and remembered my name. That was totally my warm fuzzy for the day.

Neither my walkman nor the radio in my room will pick up CD101, my favorite radio station. Why is this? Don't reduce me to listening to the cheesy oldy stations or annoying nu metal, please. And the pop station has too many commercials.

How much do I love being an Anthropology major? I do believe one of the requirements for admissions is being excessively liberal. My teacher today, off on a tangent about the defintion of culture, suddenly asked, out of nowhere- she'd been talking about how culture exists only on the population level, not the individual one: "What would you call a man who believes that he is right, and his way is *the* way? Who believes that his god is the only god? A man that would kill thousands of innocent civilians for these beliefs? Who am I talking about?" A few people snickered, but no one spoke up, and she rubbed her head dramatically and sighed, "Four more years."

Segue-ways? Sheh. I don't have a long enough attention span.

Ooh ooh I know! *waves arms*

I'd call him a risk taker. He better be damn sure his God is out there or he's gonna be in a world of hurt come judgment day. :)

Oh, and don't worry. I'm sure your yaoi_challenge fic will be kick ass. After all, sometimes we need a little plot, it makes the sex more interesting. (Although it did crap for me. >.>')

And I love your icon. *icon-love*

I've never seen Tall Guys in Tight Jeans, but now you're making me want to.

*snickers* The movie itself is pretty bad- they combine my two favorite characters into one, and then reduce his part still further- but that trailer... *dies*

However, if you haven't seen Seven Samurai, you must. Must, must, must, it's so good.

Oh, I've seen Seven Samurai. (Who were your two favorite characters? The sharpshooter and...who?)

The youngest one, who sleeps with the girl, and the crazy one, who follows them when they don't want him.

They combined--

They--

*mind boggles*

Okay. I guess I can see how that would work in a Western. But still.

I liked the sharpshooter-- I mean, that's not who he was, but you know who I'm talking about-- and Mifune best. I got tired of the young'un's Not Quite Teen Angst.

I know, I know! That was my reaction, too.

And oh, yeah, I know who you mean. I liked him too. And true, but the whole saga of him meeting the girl and her seducing him and him not being brave enough to stand up to her father amuses me endlessly.

We can trade places any time! It's almost 100 F here. T_T

I do believe one of the requirements for admissions is being excessively liberal.

Academic environments as a whole tend to lean to the left, even around here. I lean to the left myself so I end up enjoying it, but at the same time I'm bothered by this unbalance. Conservatives/those who lean to the right, have reasons why they do so and many of them are quite valid (economically and politically speaking) and should be discussed more often.

Yes, true. I do hear stories of the Business college, for example, being the opposite and leaning to the right, but between my major and the fact that the majority of classes I take outside of it are in the English/Comparitive Studies department, I have yet to actually experience any of that.
