And Issue One passed, the farthest reaching ban on gay marriage in the country. I want to cry. I was so sure this wouldn't happen. I was so sure that people were better than this.

Date: 2004-11-04 10:02 pm (UTC)It's not all as bad as it seems- I mean, despite the majority of people who voted against the passage, I've never felt afraid or discriminated against by living here. Most people, I think, are good, they're just ignorant. People who would never hurt a fly, would never offend another human being, vote for things like this because they didn't really realize what it said.
And I can forgive stupidity a lot easier than I can forgive the people who wrote it and got it on the ballot knowingly.
