Christmas and Fics

Yuletide signups start today! I desperately want Robin Hobb fic. *crosses fingers*

But alas, YnM didn't make the list of fandoms this year. I assume it's because it's too big, but Naruto made it, as did Prince of Tennis, and they're both bigger. So I weep. And then I consider starting a Yuletide exchange just for YnM (because I have so much time. Shut up. It's not like I actually need to ever sleep again.), but we already have yami_valentine, which will be going down in Feburary, so it's not too far in the future. I don't know. Would anyone be interested in doing a gift-story exchange for YnM?

And by the way, anyone not already signed up for yami_valentine: what are you waiting for? Go! Now!

However, I am happy, because people have chosen to write fic on this, my day of many tests. I assume it is solely for my benefit.

That was a tad depressing. No fandoms that I would even feel remotely comfortable writing in made the list. And this is the first time I've even heard of such a thing.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with the selection. There's some that I like, so I did end up volunteering- and if I get Robin Hobb fic written for me, my life will be complete- but there's nothing that particularly lept out at me. I was really looking forward to writing YnM for someone, though.

I'm surprised Naruto made it. The non-US-licensing may have helped too. I think I'm story-exchanged out for Christmas between yuletide and my two essays and the fact that I'll be completely fried for NaNo.

Ah, that's a good point. I hadn't thought about that. And I probably don't have the time either- my yaoi_challenge is due in December, and I agreed to write another essay for that month too, and I did go ahead and signed up for Yuletide.

No worries! Have you read her other stuff? Look up Dorian Gray on ff.net- it's all wonderful.

Yeah, it'd be fun. The only problem is that there's so much other stuff going on at the same time, and I'm not certain that the fandom is big enough to support such a project, especially considering that there'll be yami_valentine only two months later.

I'd love to, except, realistically, I doubt I'd be able to have it done in time - November and December are my craziest months in the entire school year (even including my final year exams, these two months are still the craziest) and I'm getting bogged down with my two essays and one Christmas fics as it is, not to mention normal fic and original wriitng (and, um, yeah, school).

...maybe next year. *sigh*

That's exactly what I was thinking. I mean, obviously someone must, because it couldn't have made the list unless someone requested it but... why? That movie was so bad. And not even in a fun-campy way.
