amet's Screen Name meme:
My very first screename was ChosenOne, back in the days when I didn't even have an email account but hung out often on the forum at the Buffy official website.
After a while, I realized the need for an actual email address, and attempted to get one on Yahoo. Like Amet, I have a hatred of SNs with numbers attached to the end. That just bugs me. So, after many, many attempts of different names, I came up with Brigdh.
Now see, we had been doing mythology in one of my classes earlier that day. And there is a Celtic goddess of healing, hearth-work, and, most importanly, poetry and bards who I was attempting to name myself after. Now, this goddess goes by several names- Brighid, Bride, Bridget... however, not Brigdh. Fear my mad spelling skillz, y'all.
But anyway, it turned out to be not so bad, as Brigdh remains a very unique screenname, and I like the way it sounds. Plus, it travels from fandom to fandom very well, while 'ChosenOne' wouldn't really.
'wordsofastory' comes from me being confused as to the difference between 'username' and 'journal name' and which one was more important. Hmm. It doesn't sound good that all my screenname stories start with me making a mistake. But I figured journal name was something that would go up in the corner of my 'userinfo' page, and then I'd never see it again, so I just pulled a random quote from Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver (*Great* book, by the way): "To live is to change, to acquire the words of a story, and that is the only celebration we mortals really know."
I was wrong.
But oh well. It's not an awful name.
'theBrigdh', my AIM sn, is because someone else already has 'brigdh' and I didn't want to stick numbers on the end of it.
And I'm working on that animanga characters meme, I swear to God I am. And the two drabbles I still have to do. And ClubSoka. Heh. ^^;;;
ClubSoka WordCount: 10,083. Okay, granted, the vast majority of that is just bits and peices added to the two already finished scenes rather than actual new writing, but d00d. I'm over 10,000! I feel so accomplished.

Date: 2003-09-10 09:43 pm (UTC)And I'd show it to you, but you've seen all of the third scene already. And you probably don't care enough to reread the first two scenes just because I felt that "he touched him" desperately needed to be changed to "he touched him lightly".
Although I am amused by how, every single time I go back to edit, the word count gets longer. Don't I ever cut anything out?
