Our air conditioning broke Friday night, and didn't get fixed until this evening. I loved it.

In case you didn't know, I adore the heat and humidity, and tolerate them far better than most people- not that it was really all that bad anyway. It rained Saturday and Sunday, keeping the temperatures in the seventies and eighties, and they stayed there Monday and today too.

We opened all the windows and doors to try and let the cool air in, and set up fans in nearly every room and hallway. There's something calming, perfect about the house that way. The low hum of the fans that's so steady it's just barely on the edge of hearing, and the repetitive off-again/on-again of the wind they create, as they turn to face you and then turn away. And when the wind blows, all the house smells like grass and summer, instead of whatever was last microwaved. Just hot enough to make me feel lazy, and content to do nothing more than eat the fresh peaches we bought, ripe and juicy enough to squirt when you bite into them, and play wordless music that reminds me of Jamaica or New Orleans or Mexico.

And then we fixed it today, and the AC is once again set to my family's preferred temperature, which is too cold for me. When I own a house, I don't think I'll ever run the AC.

But in other news, by Kyoto Arc DVD came today. And oh my God, the translation of the big climatic scene. Just when I thought YnM couldn't get any slasher, they prove me wrong. I laughed out loud when I saw the new translation, which is quite an accomplishment, since I'm usually near tears for that scene.
