Fevre Dream by George R.R. Martin. Vampires and steamboats and 1850's New Orleans! I'm loving it.

Oh, yes, a wonderful book! I read it years ago, soon after it came out. To be honest, I prefer it to his medieval soap opera. ;-)

I wish I could get it in ebook, as I've been unable to find my paperback copy, but so far no luck.
