Is anyone else thinking about doing Night on Fic Mountain? I haven't 100% decided if I'm going to commit yet, but it looks like a lot of fun.

It's basically Yuletide for summer. Nominations are open here until Tuesday, and sign-ups will run April 1-15. Follow along at ficmountain or on Dreamwidth.

... oooh. I didn't do Yuletide this year because, at that point, I was largely monofannish and there just wasn't enough stuff I felt like writing to feel like signing up. But now, I think I could put together a signup slate I could reasonably do (especially if Agent Carter stays in, though it's hard to believe it's small enough not to be rejected).

It went pretty well last year (which was the first year it ran), so I'm looking forward to it this year.

And I assume if Agent Carter was approved to the nomination set, it'll be in the exchange! It is surprising sometimes how fandoms which get a lot of discussion have relatively few fics.

I will be! I did it last year, too - at least this year it's got mods who won't vanish off the face of the earth. Kingsman's in under the wire, which should be fun, along with the usual Yuletide options~

I'll probably let fate decide by not nominating anything. If enough things turn up in the tagset that I could plausibly write / want to write, then it was meant to be. But I might try to channel my energy into *gasp* original fic instead. I keep meaning to, and keep getting distracted by other things. So we'll see. Or I might just hang out and watch the requests and try to treat someone without signing up.

Excellent plan! I do that sometimes. (Though in this exchange I've just remembered that I wanted to nominate Sleepy Hollow, but I've already used all my spaces. Now I keep checking to see if someone else nominates it and hoping it turns up.)

Original fic is cool too! Sometimes I try to balance the two, in the hopes that procrastinating on original stuff by writing fanfic will actually increase my overall productivity, but that never quite seems to work out the way I plan.

I didn't know about, but now that you mentioned it, I am thinking about doing it. I'm in kind of a slump for writing at the moment, and things that motivate me to write are always good.

I decided I would sign up! I'm also planning to do Jukebox (http://jukebox-fest.livejournal.com/) even though the dates overlap somewhat, because I've had fun doing it before, and I have friends participating, which always makes it more enjoyable for me :)

I thought about doing Jukebox! I've gotten assigned song fandoms in Yuletide once or twice and enjoyed writing those stories, and Jukebox produced some really excellent fic last year.
