So, I was scheduled for a Classics class this quarter. It was at 9:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and would have been my only class on those days. Yes, would have been. Because I have dropped this class like it was a whole sack of hot potatoes.
According to the University Registrar, this class was on "Topics in Ancient Literature and Society. A discussion-oriented exposure to some of the most renowned works of ancient literature and/or ancient cultural issues." No. No, it was not. According to the syllabus the teacher handed out on the first day, the class was on "National Identity in Ancient and Modern Greece". Maybe there could have been some note of this when I was registering for my classes.
Dropping a class, of course, requires that you find one to replace it. And since most people did their scheduling in October there weren't too many classes with open seats. In fact, I found only three that fit into my schedule. So, I'm now taking an Anthropology class ("World Prehistory: An Anthropological Perspective. World prehistory from the origin of human culture through the development of civilization illustrated by selected examples; archaeological field method; concepts of analysis and interpretation." if anyone is interested), which is probably a good thing, since it's my major and I've yet to take a class in it. The bad thing- it's a night class. 5:30-7:18, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This may not sound like a bad thing. Oh, but it is. I have no motivation. I will sleep all day Tuesday and Thursday, every week. I will do nothing on these days.
Also? I seem to have accidentaly wait-listed myself for Japanese 101.51, and have no idea how to get off the list. Hopefully, 31 people will not drop this class and make me take it.
I will be so careful with my scheduling next quarter.
