Date: 2014-01-11 12:58 am (UTC)I first met you when I was very new to the Swordspoint fandom, and I loved your writing immediately. How to describe it - thoughtful, romantic but not sappy (you never forgot that these men were men), interesting situations and interesting responses to them. And the incredible depth of the relationship between Richard and Alec.
As I began to write in the fandom, I really appreciated the fact that you always commented on my writing! Since you were the SP writer I most tried to emulate (hee) it was always a thrill that you took the time to read and comment. You were wonderfully supportive to me as a writer (and still are!)
I lurked at your journal for a long time before we actually became friends, so I've been intrigued by all your travels and the fascinating things you've done and seen, as well as your career field. Good on you! (And in the midst of all that travel, you still managed to stop in at
Also apart from Swordspoint, I really enjoy your book reviews, and have scrolled back a long long ways to read as many as I could. I love the care and thoughtfulness you put into each one, as well as the enthusiasm and joy when you discover a new author or series to love.
Thank you for posting, and for inviting me to be your friend! Seeing a new post from you always brightens my day.

Date: 2014-01-11 01:14 pm (UTC)i love your writing - it's very delicate and excquisite and always feels so right - and i love how unabashedly friendly you are, how openly interested in new things, how unafraid to be delighted, how easy to talk to. i love your net of interests and width of reading preferences. i love that you're always up to some mischief. and i'm very glad i got to meet you, this year.

Date: 2014-01-12 09:12 pm (UTC)I've been doing end-of-the-year bookkeeping and ahhh meeting you was the brightest highlight of 2013. Like partly because you gave me my actual favourite books ever... but mostly because you are really grand - and snarky! and generous! and perceptive! - and I absolutely love getting to know you. I really enjoy your opinions and the way you state them. And I love the way you are interested in things and willing to share your reactions. And and and and you also write sometimes and that is an amazing experience because you are VERY good at it - you write humour and passion and people so well and so memorably that that itself is a great find of the year. BUT MORE THAN ANYTHING I love the casual daily (or weekly or whatever) conversations we have - your coffeeshop AU tales and your anecdotes and everything.
In conclusion: ♥
