Yuletide nominations

Yami no Matsuei has been nominated for Yuletide! There is still the possibility that it may be declared ineligible during the review period after nominations have finished, but I've been hoping for several years that it would qualify as a dead fandom and thus become eligible again. And it seems like it may have! Or, at least, it's been allowed to be nominated. At the moment, the only characters nominated are Tsuzuki, Hisoka, Muraki, and Tatsumi.

I thought I'd post about this, in case anyone would like nominate more characters- or think about joining Yuletide this year, if you may not have otherwise.

I'll do Yuletide either way, because it's sort of the one fandom thing I manage to participate in, anymore, but I would be So. Very. Happy. if YnM makes it.

(Also, you can nominate without being required to participate later, if there's any characters you want to add just in case.)

yuletide_admin has all the official info, but the challenge itself is run at AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/collections/yuletide2012/), since it got too big for its original website a couple years ago.

Yuletide is pretty much the only fandom thing I manage to do anymore, so it seems to be good for that sort of thing.

It's a long-running fanfiction exchange, particularly designed for small or rare fandoms. It used to be run on its own website (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/), but moved over to AO3 about three years ago. It happens every year around Christmas time. YnM has been disqualified from Yuletide for years, due to its being considered a large fandom (for instance, other things such as Harry Potter, Supernatural, Sherlock, Glee, etc are all disqualified from Yuletide). However, I've been hoping for years for it to count as a "dead" fandom- that is, one so small it again meets Yuletide's size requirements.

I thought about adding Watari myself, but ended up nominating some other fandoms instead. Hopefully someone adds him, and the others; I haven't been keeping up with the nominations post, so it may have already happened.

I wasn't going to sign up at all, and I'm still not sure I will -- there are never three tiny fandoms I want anything for, and seldom three I'm willing to offer -- but as long as there's a good-faith possibility, there's no reason I can think of not to do the nominations form.

And, done! I took your advice and nominated Oriya as my fourth character, and the system tells me that the nomination has been submitted.

Now I suppose I'd better try to think of two other fandoms I might be interested in, or check to see whether anybody else has additional characters they need nominated in their fandoms. No point in letting two more slots go to waste now that I've begun the process, right?

And they're in the pipeline. God knows how long the review will take -- there was an existing tag for the fandom, but no standard tags for the characters yet. But presumably they'll be reviewed and accepted by the time signups open.
