There was just an earthquake in NYC! Fairly small- I guess- but I could definitely feel it. Nothing is showing up in the news yet, so I don't know the details, but did anyone else feel that?

ETA: Apparently there may be aftershocks, so watch out, East Coast people.

I know! It wasn't that bad here- just a little swaying, but nothing falling over- but so weird! I've never felt one before.

At first, I was all, wow, that kid upstairs is really causing a ruckus tod--- no. That's no kid. That's... the earth is moving! WTF.

We had an earthquake in Ithaca a few years ago in the middle of the night, but I slept through it. ;-)this is my first awake one. What a weird feeling!

Ha, yeah, it felt like when a truck goes by the building too close, and then it just kept going.

Supposedly there was a small one in the middle of the night when I was in India, but I slept through that one too.

It seems like it's pretty widespread! I'm seeing reports that people felt it all the way from Atlanta to Toronto. It's pretty neat- as long as it turns out not to have hurt anyone.

Yeah, definitely hoping no one was hurt. I think on whatever we have on right now they said "probably less than one person" has died.

Yep, the news seems to be saying no injuries or major damage, at least so far.

Totally felt it in NE Ohio, too! Very, very disorienting. Thought I was going crazy for a second. Not bad here, just strange!

My parents live in Ohio! I wonder if they felt it; I tried calling them but they weren't at home.

My friend who works in downtown Cleveland said her whole office thought they were dizzy all of a sudden and were going to faint..apparently it was so unexpected that people had a hard time translating that the ground was shaking. My mom and dad live in Lorain County. I called them and my dad was like, What earthquake?
