I'm home again! And so is my luggage, only two days later (they lost it, I suspect somewhere in Turkey). I am gradually readjusting to things such as not speaking Arabic to strangers and eating things other than lamb. I have many, many stories to tell and photos to post, but most of them are on my Mac laptop, which, alas, needs repair. (Even macs, apparently, do not survive being dropped screen-first on to metal tables, but that is what super-deluxe warranties are for.)

I didn't have much time to check LJ while I was gone, so let me know: how are all of you? What exciting things have happened? And, most importantly: hi!

HI! ^^

You surely should post some photographs, otherwise the picture of you muttering darkly over yet another lamb would fester for weeks;-P
Hope you're pampered as it's right after such a long journey... And as for my side? Everything's great, thank you. :)

Welcome back! Glad you made it back all right. :D I can't wait to read your post and see the pictures and such.

What exciting things have happened?

I don't think this quite counts, but I started a YA novel about lesbian werewolves a few days after you left. After my first "...okay then!" reaction, my next thought was, "Man, I wish I could tell [livejournal.com profile] wordsofastory..." Heh. XD

I love taking photos, so I'll have to share, if not all several hundred of them. I'm glad to hear you're well!

Dude! We missed you. Eljay's never quite the same when you're not around.

You missed [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry, which was made of the awesome. And you missed some giant wank -- well, not entirely, because you'll probably see references to some of the aftershocks -- but it's wank that's pretty peripheral to our corner of the world.

You did *not* miss Dorian's latest, which I have just read in draft and is so dazzling I could just burn my keyboard right now; except that if I did that, how would I be able to talk about it after she finishes it and posts?

I have pictures of Mount Washington, and of a suit, which I have not yet posted but keep meaning to. But those are much, much less exciting than pictures of Syria will be.

Did you bring home lots of sand for us all?

I am buying a house, so there will ne a nice guest bedroom so you and [livejournal.com profile] rm can come visit sometime when the weather is less evil.

Hey there, welcome back!

I can't wait to hear all about what Syria was like- Sounds AMAZING.

As for what you missed...

Left my lackluster job at the evil tour dealer. Got another job at an evil credit screening company, which actually fired me. I just started working for a marketing company putting together email promotions about a week ago.

Other than that, everything is as it was when you left us... Except for the whole aliens invading the US and taking over our governments thing. Other than that, no real changes ;-)

Welcome back!

My a capella group performed at a filk circle back in May, were invited to several conventions (some of which we went to (in fact, I just got back from one a few hours ago) and some of which are in Europe, so those are not very likely at the moment) and just put out a new CD.

Aw, thank you.

I am incredibly sad to have missed [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry. I don't know quite what I might have offered for sale, but there were several things I'd certainly have bid on. And ah, wank. It's not really fandom without it. At least there was no strikethrough this year.

And new fic from Dorian really is a wonderful welcome back. I'm so glad to hear I have that to look forward to.

But those are much, much less exciting than pictures of Syria will be.
But I've never been to Mount Washington, and I have been Syria, so I know which I am looking forward to.

Hey, funny that no one else mentioned the thing with the aliens! Maybe they've already started to spread via brain-control.

India is so cool, though! I desperately want to go there someday, though hopefully without being sick or explosions. I hope it gets better, so you can enjoy it.

Hello! Introducing myself again, now that you're back.
Writer in Armpit Innisfail, Alberta, old hippie dude, admirer /political supporter/pester of [livejournal.com profile] rm, and all around swell little human being.
Hope to get to know you better.
Oh, yes, mother's people all from India, still think of it as The Old Country, although we are culturally British, and I am myself a Yank by both birth and paternal heritage. (Parents both fought in WWII, met in London afterwards.)
Welcome home!

We're over 46K! I'm just astonished and so happy. At some point, I may do a 'second chance saloon' post for people to re-offer items that were unclaimed, etc., so stay tuned!
