bb_shousetsu is now taking sign-ups for its 12th issue! The theme is Kaidan Hyaku Monogatari, or 100 Tales Of Horror. In Japanese, this refers to stories told as part of a parlour game: participants sit in a room with lit candles and take turns recounting tales of ghosts, monsters, and the supernatural. At the conclusion of each story, a candle is blown out. When the last candle is extinguished, something is summoned into the darkened room...

On a not entirely random note, how awesome does that game sound? I've never heard of it before, but now I really want to play it.

If I'd been more on the ball I would've made Dress-Up October (to coincide with Halloween) and Horror July - Japanese ghost stories are for the summer, because chills cool one down. Supposedly. XD

Heh. I suppose that would have made sense, but hey, if you hadn't admitted it here, I would never have guessed. I think that's the secret of planning- just go with the flow and then pretend you knew what you were doing all along. XD

Oh, I've always been fond of things like that. When I was little, my friends and I used to play with a Ouija board or use a mirror to try and call up Bloody Mary endlessly. Not that they ever worked!
