The Tudors

So, a week or so ago someone linked to a commercial for the new Tudors show, which reminded me how much I want to watch this. I mean: cheesy soap opera plot and costume drama! Set to Evanescence music! It doesn't get more melodramatic than that.

But somehow y'all did not tell me that it had already started (also I don't think I have Showtime anyway). That is not a problem, however, because Yahoo is offering the entire episode for free. It does say it has been edited, but given that it's 56 minutes long, they can't have cut out much. Maybe they bleeped the swear-words; I haven't watched it yet. Certainly I watch more TV on my computer than the actual TV, as do most people I know, but I had not realized that this habit had filtered up to companies as major as Yahoo yet. What's up with offering entire free episodes? Not that I can complain.

Someone gets stabbed to death before the two minute mark, though! Y'all know you want to watch this.

I think it doesn't start until April 1, although that first episode is out already. We need to find peopel with Showtime to scam off of.

Really? Weird. I wonder why they released the first episode so early.

Oh, we should! I know a lot of places have L Word parties; I'll have to look around and see if anyone plans on doing it for this.

Craigslist. (ha).

"Queer girls seek slashers with whom to watch The Tudors and lament the fact that Henry VIII is only working his way through the ladies."

Ha! Did you actually post that?

Also, my god, look at this:

It's got a survey to fill out! Complete with references required! I'd think it was a joke, but the AOL speak at the beginning seems authentic. Not that it's hard to pretend to spell like a drunk three-year-old, I suppose.

Hahahahahaa.

I didn't post it no. But one could

"An affection for blood and other unfortunate results of swordplay also appreciated."

Do! If you only get creepy responses, you can always ignore them. And the blood-line must be included; violent death is quite as fun as the over-the-top porn.

Is the Evanescence music included in the show? Because I still feel gypped the 300 didn't keep the Nine Inch Nails.

*laughs* I remember being so traumatized that the Tristan & Isolde trailer used the "Bring Me Back to Life" song that I refused to see the movie. Well, also because it looked terrible. And I still really need to see 300.

It's not in the first five minutes, which is all I've watched so far! I doubt they use; they seem to be sticking with stuff that sounds vaguely historically appropriate.

that link just made my day. over-dramatic goth music, history reduced to love (triangles? quadrangles?), and pretty boys in costume... i'm so there.

Heh. I have cable, but not Showtime, so I have to download it too. Or try and find someone to leech off of!

Oh, thank you! I'd just watched it on Yahoo, though. I hear it gets much better in the second episode, by the way, but I haven't watched that yet.
