When my computer crashed last year, I lost a lot of music. The last few days I've been wanting one of the songs that I used to have, but I can't remember the name of it or the artist. However, I'm certain that I got it off my flist, so maybe one of you will remember it, or have also downloaded it from the original poster.

It was a female vocalist, very pretty; she reminded me of Sarah Slean, but I don't think it was actually her, because I looked at her website and none of the songs seem to be the one I'm looking for. The narrator of the song was an art forger, and made fake paintings. I think there was one line about fathers and their daughters sitting in the parlor to have their portraits done? The majority of the actual song was the narrator speaking to her love interest, though it was a bit too dark to actually be a love song, with a parallel set up between being a forger and telling lies.

Sound familiar to anyone?

This has nothing to so with your song...but speaking of music and you....I was at the circulation desk at the library where I work and Joseph Gonzalez's cd Veneer came through so I grabbed it because I remembered you had posted about it....and I must say, it's lovely. Thanks for the suggestion!
