What the hell? Dictionary.com is apparently now charging all users.

I'm addicted to its thesaurus function for working out drabbles, and will be terribly bitter if I can't find a replacement. Any recommendations for good, free sites?

Merriam Webster is online: http://www.m-w.com/

Or you could google thesaurus and see what comes up.

Oh, thank you!

Apparently dictionary.com is still working, and I love it just because it gives you so very many options, but I'll have to keep this link around also.

Are you sure? The interface has changed, but I can still use the (vastly improved) thesaurus function without any problems.

Hmmm. Every word I'd tried to look up yesterday kept coming up as 'premium content', but it appears to be working fine today. Perhaps I'd hit it just as it was having a glitch in a system.

I thought it had vanished but this works for me: http://thesaurus.reference.com/

Huh, it's working for me now, too. Maybe I'd just hit a glitch in the system yesterday. Thanks!
