brigdh: (I love me a bold character)

I have a new secret shame: I am completely and utterly addicted to House. I love it! He is such a cranky bastard! With a cane!

The terrible problem, however, is that I cannot get an internet connection to last long enough to download any episodes, and there wasn't a rerun on this week. What the fuck, FOX? Why show Celebrities No One Knows and Who Can't Sing Or Dance, Who the Hell Watches This Anyway when there could be a snarky doctor with issues on my TV instead?

Apparently there is even an episode called House Vs God which, from the summary I've seen, totally features my bulletproof kink of people trying to fix the universe. But I cannot see it because of this internet! I want it so desperately that I have contemplated buying internet from a Starbucks for the time it would take to download, but I just switched bank accounts and don't have my new credit card yet.

Woe!

If you get basic cable, they also sometimes show House re-runs on USA, though not right now since it's US Open season.

I have the first season on my harddrive, which I could burn for you if you wanted. (Or, alternately, send when you get the Internet under control and I get back to school.)

I do know about the USA reruns, but they're only on Friday nights (right? Unless I'm unaware of some), and by then I should have stable internet, and will be able to download all I want.

Thank you, that's so nice! But I've already found links to all the episodes to download; it's just that I need to longer lasting connection for them to work.

Ah, I'm not really sure. I thought I saw them on more often than then, but I kinda lose track of days in the summer. *sheepish*

All right, just making sure. :D

Hee, no worries. I could be wrong too. I just know that Friday nights is when I've been watching it, but there could be another time too.

I've been watching more of USA lately than I have before. Mostly since they've got House, Psych, and tennis, so my TV is on there often enough that I lose track of what's on when. 8D

USA is pretty awesome. I like Monk too, so Friday nights have been awesome: Monk, Pysch, and House, all in a row.

I haven't watched much of Monk yet, but the bits of I've seen it looks cool. House is still my favorite show, though.

Monk is great, but House is the best, yes.

...Freakishly enough, the House vs God episode just re-ran over here today. Oceans can separate people, but the internet will always provide funny coincidences. Weird.

Ah, too bad! I've been wanting to see that one for ages, but I haven't seen it show here recently.

Try the public library or McDonalds. Both of those here have the internet as far as I know for free.

I was going to try the library, but I had to come home so I could figure out where it was by looking at a map, and then I decided to wait till tomorrow because I had somewhere else to go in a little while.

But McDonalds, really? I totally did not know that.

*laughs* I can't believe I'd never seen it before this summer. It's totally my show.

How I envy you. I want to love House, but all I can ever manage when I remember to watch it is an emotionally-uninvolved respect. Which is far better than I do with most live-action television, but still not quite what I would like to feel.

Maybe I just need to find all the episodes and mainline them? Where do you download this stuff from, anyway?

House v. God is definitely worth tracking down, though. Even I can tell that. And you do know that the brilliant Doris Egan, who wrote it, is on LJ, right?

It did take me a while to go from 'vaguely entertained' to 'deep and abiding love', but I also suspect that it's one of those things that so closely hits my kinks (brilliant and misanthropic and that weird mix of arrogance and self-loathing, oh my!) that I can't believe it's as popular as it is.

I'm getting the downloads from this post (http://community.livejournal.com/houseepisodes/210343.html), which is locked to members of [livejournal.com profile] houseepisodes, but if you want to join the community for just as long as it takes to download the episodes, you can do that. The few they don't have I've managed to google up bittorrents for. There're also quite a few bittorrents available for the complete two seasons, but I haven't been able to maintain an internet connection for long enough to see if they have enough seeds to work.

And you do know that the brilliant Doris Egan, who wrote it, is on LJ, right?

No, I didn't! What's the screenname?

The official journal is [livejournal.com profile] tightropegirl. She doesn't have time to post all that often, but when she does it's always fascinating. It would be an exaggeration to say that I live for the day when she finally has her own show, but not that much of one.

As a side note, it's thanks to her that I've been aware of Jensen Ackles since way back when he did his first guest role on Dark Angel. I still can't get used to this new post-Supernatural world, where everybody knows who he is.

They show it on USA on Fridays...or they did. I know they were but last week was season's end, so I'm not sure if it's still there. :3

Yeah, I know! But I can't wait for Friday, I need it now! ;)

Besides, hopefully by tomorrow night we'll have the internet installed, so I won't need to worry anymore.

Which series is that? We're on the fifth disc of the first series DVDs at the moment. SO MUCH WILSON GLEE. :D :D :D

It's last in the second season. I think it's four or five from the end, but I'm not positive, because the ones I've seen haven't been in order.

I haven't seen that much Wilson! I know, shame.

Nope! I still have many to look forward to; I've only seen about ten from the second season, the pilot, and 'Maternity' from the first season. Although having many to look forward to is totally not a bad thing.
