1. Hannah Fury - The Necklace of Marie Antoinette
I'll make it look like an accident
I'll make it look like he was trying to hurt me
I'll make it seem like I was innocent
I'll make him wish he had never met me

Oh man, why do I love violent songs so much? I dunno. Pretty electronica.

2. UNKLE - Lonely Souls
There's no secret to living
Just keep on walking
There's no secret to dying
Just keep on flying.

I also have a thing for depressing music, even when I myself am in a good mood. Good for fooling people into thinking you're suicidal! Trip-hop.

3. Bell X1 - Flame (Chicken Lips Mix)
But oh how your neck
Flows to your shoulder
It draws me, it draws me to your flame

So, so pretty. Techno/hip-hop remix of a pop rock song.

4. Cowboy Junkies - Highway Kind
Shame that it's not enough
Shame that it is a shame.
Follow the circle down
Where would you be?

Depressing and pretty! We have a winner. Folk/country/western.

5. Concrete Blond - Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)
I got the ways and means
to New Orleans
I'm going down by the river
where it's warm and green

Cheesy 90s pop music is the best thing ever.

6. Suede - Attitude
She give a little bit of attitude
Give a little bit of something new
Give a little bit of attitude
Get a little bit tacky too

Got to have a least one song to dance to. Or to strut around town to, whichever. Slinky indie Rock.

7. 65DaysOfStatic - Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here

No one's music collection is complete without dramatic instrumentals. I picture this song as the soundtrack for the dramatic rescue montage at the climax of a sci-fi action movie, possibly featuring a computer hacker, a desperate grab to catch someone's hand, field first-aid, and at least one person getting thrown through a window- glass shattering and falling like stars. Low-fi/electronica.

I tag everyone.

I haven't seen this meme before. What's the basis?

Post your top seven songs of the moment, and tag people to do likewise. Possibly you're supposed to tag seven people; everyone I've seen has either tagged no one or everyone, so I'm sort of unclear on that part of the meme.

It's really all about the music, anyway. *grins*

You know the Cowboy Junkies song is a cover of a Townes van Zandt original, right (also covered very nicely by Lyle Lovett)? "Pretty and depressing" covers a lot of what he recorded. I should send you "Flying Shoes."

Oh, I hadn't realized. I got the Cowboy Junkies off of [livejournal.com profile] fst, and they didn't mention that it was a cover.

I love it.

And you should do it! Everyone should.

Every time I get music from you, I know I'm going to love it. I salute your music-fu. :)

Mmm, need to find a CD-RW to switch some iTunes music to mp3 format first, though, since all the songs on my "Recently Played" list are directly from iTunes. -_-; Why oh why did I fall for that upgrade a few months back? Whyyyy?

Hee, thank you.

And yeah, same here. I can rip from CDs as either .m4a or .wma, but there's always someone for who those don't work. I used to have a real nice free converting program, but I lost it when I reinstalled Windows, and I don't remember what it was called. If you find a good one, let me know!

Jhymn? That worked brilliantly for me until I fell for iTunes 6 upgrade or whatever it was. *sour*

Oo, thanks for the rec. Yeah, the new update messed me up too. I was so pissed off. I wonder how many people had a problem with it?

Thanks for the music! I especially liked Hannah Fury and UNKLE. Hannah's whispering voice was spooky.

Thanks! I think those are my favorites too. And yeah, her voice makes such a perfect match for the lyrics.
