Computer, music
May. 6th, 2006 05:33 pmMy computer is back! Everything is good and right with the world.
Though not at first. My dad had been sent to fetch it from the store (hey, when you don't have a car, the next best thing is exploiting nearby family members), and once I had it in my hands I picked it up, looking at it. "Why," I asked, "does the CD drive not have a door?"
"It was like that when they gave it to me!" he said.
"We're going back to the store right the hell now," I said. Because it's not enough that they can keep my computer for the better part of a month, it needs to be worse off every time I get it back than when I sent it in. But the people at the front desk not only fixed the problem, but installed a whole new CD drive. Man. Why are the people who work at the actual store such wonderful, nice guys, while the people in the warehouse who fix the computers are such assholes?
Anyway. Since I am happy, I want to share the love with all of you!
Six of the songs I've been listening to a lot lately:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Warrior & YSI link
Man, they like me
Cause I'm a warrior, a warrior
Stand on my feet
Dance the warrior, the warrior
Where would I be?
I'd be a warrior, a warrior
Moses - Beautiful Gun & YSI link
It's just the fate of the pretty to break those hearts
So sleep for a while
See if you smile
While you're sleeping, you're sleeping
Melissa Ferrick - Drive & YSI link
Your mouth waters
Stretched out on my bed
Your fingers are trembling
And your heart is heavy and red
And your head is bent back
And your back is arched
Possibly not worksafe, though there's nothing explicit in it.
Morcheeba - Everybody Loves a Loser & YSI link
This time you have to face your future
Although it's just a dusty road
It's clear that backing down don't suit you
I'd hate to break your sacred code
P.O.S. - Stand Up (Let's Get Murdered) & YSI link
Hands up if you're broken but find a way to stand up
Give it up if you're hoping to never give it up
Tom McRae - A Day Like Today & YSI link
Need to see
Need to say
Need to be
Something beautiful
