Yes! I've been wanting to do the drabble meme again for a while now- I think the last time I did it was back in June- but I just haven't had enough time. But now? Now I do! I mean, I've got [livejournal.com profile] stagesoflove and [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_challenge, but they leave me plenty of free time for one meme, especially since I have no papers due for quite some time.

So request something and I will write it for you! Any characters, any pairings, any fandoms, any prompt, as long as I know them.

Umm...Hakkai, doing his laughing-at-you-but-not thing at Sanzo about something?

If that makes sense. If it doesn't, please say so, and I'll try to be more coherent. :)

I am so predictable.

Tatsumi and Watari, some form of kink, though that can be as subtle (or not) as you like.

*wiggles* Hello you new person. I found you through [livejournal.com profile] mistressrenet.

Uhm. A-ha!

Twoflower/Rincewind, subtle slash. xD Or, being who they are, not so subtle.

Something in Gaiden. Prompt: books and/or sakura.

By the way... have you ever seen Samurai Champloo?

No, I haven't, though everyone I know who's seen it has said good things. I really should watch it; I think the hip-hop would appeal to me.

For some reason this is sending my brain straight to the crack!fic place. So the following should be construed as an illustration of my insanity, and not necessarily as a request.

Unless, of course, you want to.

Hisoka/Sanzo. With guns, don't you think?

Very much with guns, I'd think. Have you read [livejournal.com profile] geekerypokery's take on the same thing, though?

I had to have the author point it out to me before I saw it, either, but I'm so glad she did, because I adore it. It's here. (http://geekerypokery.livejournal.com/41566.html?thread=215646#t215646)

It reminds me of Saiyuki in some ways: cheerfully anachronistic (although in a very different way-- Samurai Champloo mixes extremely accurate portrayals of little-known period details and facts with hip-hop and police palaquins with flashing red lights on the top), snarky banter, a well-controlled mix of levity and extreme emotional intensity, a fine use of visual imagery, and complex developing character relationships.

::waves:: Hello, I'm sort of a n00b here ^^ I got referred by [livejournal.com profile] aluragayle.

Since pretty much everything else has been requested, I'd like to see something a little different. Like... smexy Watari/Tsuzuki ;) As much as I am a Tatari shipper, this doesn't bother me at all ^^ Up to you if you wanna take it.

Man, I need a real Sanzo/Hakkai icon

Sanzo cursed into the still room, scowling at his newspaper as though he was contemplating its grisly death.

"Bad news?" Hakkai asked.

Sanzo paused, the anger leaving his face for what might, possibly, have been embarrassment. "No. It's nothing."

"You seemed upset."

Sanzo roughly folded the paper and tossed on the table. "Just let it go."

Hakkai slipped the paper out from under Sanzo's elbow, smiling at his glare and turning in his chair to shake it open quickly enough to escape Sanzo's grab.

"Ah. Six-letter word for 'monkey-like' is simian, Sanzo."

Sanzo snatched the paper back. "I knew that."

"Hey, hey, hey," Tsuzuki said, slinging his arm around Watari's shoulders and laughing moistly into the side of his face. "You have nice hair."

"Thanks!" Watari grinned, fingers slipping off his can of beer as he turned to Tsuzuki. "Do you wanna make out?"

Tsuzuki blinked at him, mouth a little slack. "Watari, I mean, you're my best friend. And we have fun, right? Yeah. You- you're so nice. And you sort of smell like strawberries.

Watari nodded, drunkenly serious. "It's my shampoo. Well?"

"And I really want to kiss you right now."

"Just watch out for 003. She bites."

"This is a pride parade," Rincewind explained, wondering if it was possible to blush yourself to death. He was staring intently at his feet, like any decent person would, but Twoflower seemed instead to be doing rather a lot of staring and gaping. "It's, ah, an ancient and... um, proud tradition..."

A young man on one of the floats, whose outfit left it quite clear that he had a rather big reason for being proud, tossed some necklaces made of flowers at them. One landed on Twoflower's head, who smiled innocently. "Look! I've been lei-ed."

Rincewind groaned.

Nothing wrong with predictablity

Shadows, Watari thought, were very useful. Softer than more conventional materials, they were light and delicate enough that sometimes the only way he knew they were there was by looking. But even so they were stronger than, say, handcuffs, and tended not to scrape the skin in that annoying way.

It was fascinating, really. He wondered how to convince Tatsumi to let him try a few experiments-

"Watari?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you bored?" Tatsumi asked, setting his hand in a particularly distracting spot. "Do try to pay attention."

"That's not hard." Watari grinned and moved where he could. "Unlike other things."

Apparently I'm in a mean mood, too, as this came fully-formed while I was walking home.

***

Sanzo doesn't die in battle. Sanzo doesn't die young at all, despite everyone's expectations. When the years leave him weaker, he treats them like personal insults. Even the final illness makes him furious; ironically, that gives him the strength to drag out the inevitable a few more days.

Goku can't resent the extra years, months, days, though Sanzo hates them. Not even the last seconds, with Sanzo drowning in air, clenching Goku's hand, looking- for once- nervous. Goku doesn't care if it's selfish; he wanted that time.

They burn the body at dawn. The sunrise is dim against his memories.

Hee. So true. And I think there's just something about watching Sanzo run up against a force that he can't beat, but won't bow to. How he'd rage against it and go down fighting. *sigh* So much Sanzo love, and so little time...

*flails incoherently* I think you just managed to hit my bullet-proof character kink, right there. That's it, that's it exactly, and phrased so lovely, too.

I don't suppose I could ask you to post this snippet in a separate post, back-dated if you prefer, so that I can list it on [livejournal.com profile] mc_recs?

I usually do it all in the memories of that community, and that only lets you record a post, not a comment within a post.

A title would be nice, but not essential.
