I'm back in Ohio now, just in time to develop a fever and start becoming delirious. But I suppose if I have to get deadly sick, at least I've done it somewhere where people will feed me and bring me things. Wow, I'm totally that person who infects everyone else on the flight. Sorry, strangers. But at least I'm not coughing or sneezing, so I'm probably not terribly contagious.
My flight was delayed, but just by an hour, so it wasn't a bad wait. However, the LaGuardia aiport does not have free wireless. The hell kind of airport doesn't have free wireless? I took a moral stand against paying for it, which was sad, because I have a million comments I need to reply to, and something had just happened which I deeply wanted to share with you all. And I am not quite patient enough to type it out into my phone for a post.
I took a bus to the airport this morning, and it was packed. So many people that not everyone could reach the metal bars to hold on, and the driver had stopped allowing anyone to get on a few stops back. Suddenly there was a loud noise, and the bus slammed to a halt, throwing everyone into each other and to the ground. I was next to a window, and grabbed at it for support, so I happened to get a perfect view as a car went spiraling past backwards, the entire back end of it- not just the bumper- flying off. After everyone had completed the required screaming and oh-my-god-ing and did-you-see-that-ing, it was determined that we were less than a mile from the airport, and so all the passengers took off walking, leaving the bus driver and driver of the car to shout at each other.
Man, that's even better than the last time I took a bus to an airport in New York, and the driver got into a fistfight with a random guy on the street!
