Fandom invades my real life

brigdh1. Today, in my Indian history class, in the course of a very serious discussion about the spread of religion, the professor managed to start talking about the historical Sanzo-ikkou. I was not going to laugh, really, even when he was going on and on about it, but then he managed to quote (all unknowingly) "the gods save no one" and I had to put my head down on my desk for a while.
2. On The Colbert Report, The West Wing was described as "John Kerry fanfiction" (jokingly, in case you've never seen The Colbert Report). I had no idea 'fanfiction' was a term wide-spread enough to show up on TV shows.
3. Okay, this happened a couple of weeks ago, before my computer collapsed, but I'll tell it anyway. I was using the Goku desktop I made for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
lyricaldesktop's last challenge, because it was my favorite of the three, and had the computer sitting open on the table in the living room, with no windows open at the time to obscure it.
My new roommate wandered by, noticed, and said: "Hey! Put Sanzo up instead, he's my favorite."
I mentioned I love her, right?
