Buddhism for Dummies

brigdhThe guy sitting next to me on the couch* at this coffeeshop is reading The Idiot's Guide to Buddhism, and is currently at the chapter titled "Don't Bother Me: I'm Meditating".
This is funny because, in the fifteen minutes he's been sitting here, he's changed position every ten seconds, put the book and down and picked it up again multiple times, rearranged his coat and bag endlessly, stood up and looked around for no discernible reason, and has twice left to walk around the coffeeshop in what are apparently attempts to see if there's anything interesting in the corners.
If there was ever a person who needed meditation...
And now he just briefly knelt on the floor.
ETA: And now he got up and left, abandoning his way-too-expensive (and I would know, because it's one I always want but can't afford every day) coffee drink with two-thirds left. Seriously, dude. More Buddha and less caffeine for you.
*because the place is so crowded that there's nowhere else to sit, and so I am obligated to share, even though I was here first and claimed the nice squishy seat with adjacent fireplace all for myself. Not that I'm bitter.
