I woke up this morning, and my ipod's memory was completely wiped. No songs, no playlists, no albums... nothing. Everything was gone. Nothing happened during the intervening time that could possibly have caused it, so I have no idea what the problem was.

Searching for some kind of solution has come up with posts by other people who had the same problem, but the only fix appears to be restoring the ipod- which erases everything from its memory. I haven't done that yet because I'm still hoping to figure out some way to get all my stuff back.

Jesus Christ. I have nearly all of the music saved in one place or another, but all of my playlists, all of my ratings and organization and counts and everything are gone, and I don't have the time right now to upload several thousand songs anyway. And yet I need this not to happen, because for the last several weeks, surreptitiously listening to music has been the only thing that has kept me from locking my coworkers in the store and setting the entire place on fire.

This is the worst winter vacation ever.

That royally sucks. I hate when playlists and music lists get mysteriously deleted without any explanation or what not and that you have to go get them all again and it's annoying as hell.

Sorry about that, friend. =/

Yeah, I know. It's so aggravating. Thanks for the sympathy, though!

Ooo, thank for the suggestion! I couldn't get it to work, unfortunately- whatever random problem wiped my memory was also making my computer refuse to acknowledge my ipod- but it looks like that'll my a wonderfully cool program to have in the future.

Aw, thanks. It's alright, though- I just had to grit my teeth and go ahead and restore it to stabilize it, and then start re-uploading music.

But it could be worse. At least it still works!

Hee -- I've been dying to use this one. 'Cause the world always needs more Sanzo. Especially if he's looking smug, pained, or holding really obvious phallic symbols. It's one of those self-evident thingies. Sometimes I just stare at him, because, damn, is he hot. And that's even before you get the handcuffs out XP
