Guess who's starting a paper twelve hours before it's due! No, go on, guess- you'll never believe who it is.

Um, yeah. So, I'm doing the third and final revision of the story for my fiction writing class. The first draft had a sex scene in it (because it's required in everything I write. I don't know why I do this to myself; a story or two more and it'll be time for me to have an existential crisis over writing solely porn), but it got dropped from the second draft. The sex still happened, of course, it just happened off-screen, between two other scenes.

Which prompted two people to declare, during the critique, that they missed the sex, and another three to make notes to me about wanting the sex back. I find this to be the funniest thing ever. Oh, you poor, innocent English majors. I will convert you to the smut yet.

You know, I'm just starting to teach on a creative writing course, and I was looking through the assignment handbook and found that for their final assignment, students are told that 'material of a salacious or offensive nature is not an acceptable choice' and to consult their tutor if in doubt about this.

First of all I rolled my eyes at the stuck-up-ness of it all. Then I thought, whoa, *I* get to decide what's salacious? What's offensive? The fools, the silly fools! *weg*

Dude, for real. Porn is hard. Especially drabble porn. I was trying to do one a few weeks ago, but eventually gave up and just had it imply vague smutty feelings.

I've gotten into some pretty graphic smut roleplaying with fyrie, and written shit I was convinced I'd never write, and sometimes when I'm on a roll it just flows, but usually it makes me tear out my hair and twitch and writhe around as I try to figure out what the HELL to say and then I get so embarassed I never read any of it ever again.

Hee. I'm more used to it now that I was, but I swear that smut is inherently harder than an ordinary scene. Even word choice becomes so important. And heh, I just couldn't do it in exactly 100 words this time.

Especially because I write a lot of het now.

And some of it is incest, and the newest bit has been incestuous mostlybeastiality (Van Helsing Anna and werewolf!Velkan) and while it makes me giggle I really do feel kind of bad for not only writing it but writing it with PROFOUND GLEE.
